Parking Brake

Anyone have any good videos for parking brake handle replacement? Ive adjusted the actual shoes numerous times, they'll hold for a few days to a few weeks, then they wont hold anymore. All new hardware. Last resort is to change the handle. I've seen a bunch of videos for a "fix" by adding bolts or stoppers, but I would just rather replace than try to fob something together.

The handle is not the problem. A handle doesn’t wear out. There is nothing to it.

Maybe more specific. The spring the handle activates. And the cables that connect to the spring. But it looks like it would be easier to just change it out.

Could just be the balancer that needs to be tightened. No video but you just need to remove the bolts securing the center console to the body, lift up a bit and you should be able to see it. There should be a nut on a threaded stud that you can tighten.

You can pick up stronger springs from Ace Hardware as well as the wire nuts for the steel cable, that cable stretches over time and the springs weaken.
measure the cable diameter and take a spring out to have something to match against when you go to Ace and get something that's a little bit stronger.
No need to spend a lot of money and overcomplicate the job
