Does anyone know if you can paint on top of the plasti dip?

spray paint over undamaged plastidip? sure...

touch up over damaged plastidip? yeah but it doesnt look very good if its in the center of the "dipped" area. Edges like the pic overlander posted above dont look too bad, but it isnt perfect when you touch it up.

If you can't walk my beat unarmed, maybe you should consider becoming a police officer.

is plasti dip better than powder coating? If so what makes it good?

Best part about it is that it's totally reversible and it's a hell of a lot cheaper. I just did my grill last night and I couldn't be happier with the turn out! Can says 3-4 layers but I did 5 for shits and giggles

I have Plasti Dipped my wheels twice. The first time I did about 4 coats and it help up good for a while. After a summer of wheeling, I noticed some of my wheels got scratched pretty bad and left some scrapes and gouges in the wheels that started making the plasti dip peel off. so a few weeks ago All i did was peel the plasti dip off and re paint them with plasti dip again.

After hitting 2 trails so far with the new paint they still look new. I say do it!

Heres what they looked like the very first time I painted them

In this pic you can see the front wheel where the paint scrapped off.

I have the horrible 16" wheels and I'm debating about getting the stock 17"s on eBay and plasti dipping them or just keeping the stock 16"s I have and dipping them for my new 315/75R16 Red Letter Grabbers I might be ordering soon

There is absolutely no reason to index card anything. Just spray right over to the tire. When you're done, just peel the tire part off and it will break neatly at the wheel.
