The Adventures of Fiona - '08 JK Rubicon 2-Door

Looks good!!! That sucks you have to swap tires by hand! How long does each tire take?

Thanks!

Too fucking long. The first one about 3 hours, the second about 2, the 3rd about 1.5...

A lot of it is because I have shitty tools, some if it is because I'm an idiot, and a good part of it is that these Nittos have extremely stiff sidewalls and my wheels hold a bead like nothing I've ever seen.

The second one I did, nothing would break the bead.. I dropped my fucking Mazda on the tire and it bounced. 🤣

James, man Fiona is looking awesome! Can't wait to see what she can do on the trail now. I need to get back out with ya again. Maybe in July when I'm back.
Btw Pep boys by my house mounted my old used 37x12.50R17 KM2 tires on some stock JK wheels for Mike.

Thanks Jake! I'm looking forward to seeing how she performs too. Absolutely let me know when you're back in town so we can set up a run! 👍

Yeah, I had a shop install the used 35s too, but for whatever reason, no one up here wanted to do it. 🤨

Daaammmmn. Swapping tires by hand is a bitch! Beadlocks are bad enough but at least you only have to do one bead! Looking good!

Fuck, what a weekend. My work van ended up sucking most of my time but I was able to finish all the work in the front of the Jeep. Two more tires to mount for the rear and then trimming is left.

Side note: any one here in SoCal interested in cutting down my front bumper and welding some end caps on to make it a stubby?

I can definitely help you cut the bumper. If you bring some steel plate and install a 220 circuit in my garage, I can help weld them on. Be advised, though, that my welding skills are, let’s say, unpolished. But my track bar mount and PSC ram mount haven’t failed yet! [emoji16]

I would be happy to do that if you supply the material for the wiring... If you're serious, let's get together and figure it out. 👍

I’d buy the parts of course. I assume there’s room in the box for a 30amp 220 volt breaker, but I’m not positive.

When were you thinking? I’m tied up Sunday, but Saturday is a possibility.

Nah, I have to work this weekend, unfortunately. Maybe 2 or 3 weeks from now?

Is your panel on your garage wall or does it need a long run? If you can, text me some pics of your panel (inside), the wall it's on, and the garage wall you want it on so I can get a feel for what you need... If it's a short run, I may have enough materials laying around to do it.
