Went ahead and did the PSC Big Bore XD2 box by itself since my main goal was a stronger sector shaft. I figure if I go to big axles & 40s down the road I will deal with hydro then.

I have a portable compressor I am pretty happy with as it is large, has a 45min duty cycle, puts out 6.35cfm and was only $160. In my past JK I had a Dominion on board air setup with the tank and Viair compressor and it was SLOW on 37s compared to this one that I am mounting (this one does a 37 from 10 to 28 in less than 2min). The only issue was the portable-ness / having to pull it out and clamp it on the batter terminals etc.... I wanted the easy of plug in a hose and flip a switch!

So, I set out to mount it up under the passenger seat.

First step was to rotate it on the base so the head was laying down, this required some clearance work on the mounting brackets (of course the bottom would be different from the side....):

The desired position:

At this point I realized the carpet hold down bolt AND the base plate on the compressor had to go for the vertical clearance I needed:

Trimmed the carpet around the head since that's the part that gets hot:

Got the pressure cutoff switch wired up with the relay, these come expecting to always be free flowing so with the various quick connects and chucks I wanted to use, I felt a pressure cutoff would increase the lifespan:

Bolted through the floor with some 1/4" x 1.5" stainless with fenders washers and nylock nuts:

Last thing for mounting will be a clip for the quick coupler on the side of the seat.

Once the rest of the stuff for my switch pod comes in, I will leave the switch on the compressor all the time and use my console mounted switch!

Looks great and very good performance! Nice mod!

For comparison, my single ARB compressor airs up my 37’s from 12 to 28 psig in 2 minutes 20 seconds.

Thanks for the info! Its been a pretty solid performer but it is big and heavy so it's to be expected. My old Viair powered setup was pitiful even with the tank, but the compressor was tiny compared to this thing.
