What was done to your rig this week?

No problem! The owner was telling me he will be installing another lift, making a total of 3.

That's a great concept, I know a guy here was trying to get funding to do the same thing, but I don't think he ever got it off the ground. I wish more people made a business of this, it would help the weekend warriors. Hell, shops could just add a bay or two with a lift and offer it. Working on the Jeep on a lift would save my back, neck, and knuckles. ;)

Looking good. How do you like the Drake mounts? Got any pics?

Sweet! I love that setup. I think I've made up my mind and going to go with the OR-FAB tire carrier with Gerry Cans. I like the look and function and this will allow me to run no rear bumper. Just nice frame rails :)

If you don't mind me asking where'd you pick yours up?

I started to mount my 35s to see what the gears were going to fill like before I get my lift Installed and I broke my socket and then I broke my breaker bar. Also jacked up a lug after only getting one done.. But here are some tire comparisons...

Added some Nemesis Industries Odyssey Fenders....

I saw your avatar on Facebook and could just barely see the fender change in the photo and it definitely peaked my interest as to what you had done. Those look fantastic! Can't wait to see all these rigs in person

Where did you find the CB mounts? Does it work ok?

I made the CB mounts from some hardware at Lowes cost about $10 and is solid!

Insulated cable clamps 3/8"
1/2" L shaped brackets
Nuts bolts and washers

Which created a need for some Power Stop Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors and Evolution pads to help slow us down!

I got lucky with mine. A guy on the Project Jk forum sold it to me. He had it for 2weeks then stripped his jeep to sell it. I know 4wheelparts has them. I really like it. It's a clean look. Good luck!

Looks great! I am interested in this. Got a new CB for my B-day from the Mrs and need to get it mounted up. I like the tuffy overhead but I'm not too hot on it going completely across to the speaker bar.

Does it vibrate or anything?

I get some vibration at highway speeds but nothing noticeable. Between the wind from being topless, and the trail doors clanking, the seatbelts flapping and the radio blaring. :)

But in all seriousness the clamps I put on the footman loop are insulated so there's no sound and I put a strip of weatherstripping on the back of the CB where it contacts the plastic upper of the windshield. Pretty solid and budget-wise setup.

Installed star fabrications smart door system in our JKU. I give the kit a 9 out of 10 for doing it yourself, the instructions were good, install took me 2 hours.

Thanks for the pics and write up.
I've been looking at these for the same reason everybody does, the doors have a mind of there own. You want it to stay open, it closes, you want it to close, it flies open.
The reason there isn't a system like this from the factory is because they know some of us pull our doors off regularly.
So, here's my question(s).
How easy is it to disconnect this and pull the doors? Can you undo just the one little silver bolt (arrow), or do you have to unscrew the 2 nuts (circled) on each hinge assembly?

Once again, thanks for the great write up.
