What does your front bumper camera hook to? Interesting Idea.
I have never run a front license plate in the year I've had my Jeep. I drove to Destin FL and never had any issues so I haven't worried about it but I like your idea of clipping it to the fairlead. Does it stay at 70/80 mph? :thumb:
First, yes the plate mount stays put. It is very well built and takes quite a bit of pull to even remove!
The front and rear cameras hook up to this:
Its an awesome setup... the monitor is a waterproof, shockproof, LED back lit, outdoor viewable monitor. Perfect for a jeep!! The site is rearviewsystems.com
They have awesome setups. The cameras are IP69k rated so you can literally hold a pressure washer directly to them with no risk of ingress, and they are even heated! The company usually sells to industrial uses, but they were excited about my setup on a jeep! Awesome customer service. I have four cameras, but have only installed the front and rear so far. My original inspiration was honestly because I have two small kids and was afraid of not seeing them in the driveway. I have it setup so I can view any or all cameras at any time. I usually have the rear cam always on. Oh, and they have built in infrared lights too.
I attached an extra power socket setup to the back of the monitor as the pics show. Hard wired under dash. The device left of my monitor is a touchscreen trunking scanner.
