What was done to your rig this week?

You need to zip-tie that back in the bottom corner. Also looks like you have a whole in the liner? That prob causes some extra wind to get behind it and flop that thing around.

A zip tie is what caused the hole and hat caused the liner to fail this time. :-(

Fixed a minor leak, dialed in my coilovers and removed my rear bumper & installed the EVO rear d-ring mounts. Next week I'll be installing my EVO corner armor and tire carrier!

Spec'd out 2014 oil filters at the Jeep store and parts houses are WRONG.............

What did I do to my JK this week? I'm hoping I didn't kill it...that's what.

Couple months ago I traded my 2010 Unlimited for a 2014 Unlimited, and on Monday I dropped the factory fill and switched to Mobil 1 Synthetic (1975 miles) and found out that the oil filters spec'd out at the Jeep dealership and parts houses...bought a Purolator at Pep Boys...are WRONG for the 2014 3.6 Pentastar. Jeep dealerships apparently haven't updated their digital documentation, because when the parts guy showed me the exploded drawing on his monitor it didn't show the nipple and O-Ring on an assembly integral to the filter, but at least the Jeep store quick lube folks knew the score and gave me the right one. Chrysler/Jeep customer service and I are exchanging emails/phone calls about it.

How do I know this? Found it out the hard way...drove with basically no oil pressure for about 1/2 mile total. Oil pressure warning did not come on until I'd driven ~1/4 mile. Big pucker factor...

Word of warning: If you have a 2014, the oil filter has been modified from the 2013 version...there is a plastic assembly on the end of the filter with an O-ring on it. That better be the one you go back with or you'll hold 2psi at idle and 14psi at 25 mph. This is experience speaking...

And, I dropped the gear lube in both diffs and went back with Mobil 1 Synthetic. The amount of fine metal particles on the magnetic drain plug surprised me.

Happy trails...

Installed Evo 3" Plush Ride coils. Initial measurements say around 4" over stock height. So far I am very please with these coils they ride amazingly well... not that I didnt believe everyone or Evo. Taking her our tomorrow on a trail run, gotta stretch her new legs a bit!

I'll ask the newb question...what are skins for? Looks?

looks and for keeping the rockers safe if you hit a big rock. the sliders can bend in toward the body if hit hard enough. but if you running the EVO sliders (like jim will soon) they shouldnt bend much at all
