Where did your Jeep take You this Week?

Ran Benbow Jeep Trail top to bottom today. Narrow and rocky. Very fun descent. Next time I think I'll do the climb. There has been so much timber blown down up there over the past 10 years. Trail is currently clear and fairly well maintained by Magic City 4x4 Club out of Billings as I understand it. Kudos to them!

As soon as I have some pics & footage ready I'll post it up.

Got a chance to make it out to the Flats off road park in Marion, NC on Saturday. It was wet and muddy, but was a fun little park.

Didn't know that was there! I go to Marion almost every time I come home

It's a closed park that opens to the public every now and then. Unless you know a member or something. I just happened to wheel with a friend who met a guy that was a member and he let us ride. Nice little park, but if you are close to there I would look at getting a membership to the park. Ran by the rock corps I think.

Estes Park, Co.

Took a hunting trip to the Estes Park area last week. No hunting tag for me but the CO. forest roads were an unexpected plus!.

If you run up I-45 through Huntsville you are going to see one of the Fathers of the great state of Texas - Big Sam.

The next big thing in Texas is Bucee's.
BuceesOutside.jpg

Worst part of the trip was US-287 between Wichita Falls and Amarillo, whole lotta nothing. Maybe the reason Texas spent so much on nice rest stops.
US_287.jpg

Fuel Stop. At an average of 13 MPG for just over 1050 miles, there were quite a few.

New Mexico State line. Driving for more than half (700+ miles) and 12+ hours and just now leaving Texas.

New Mexico US 87 - more of alotta nothing, just a bit more interesting.

Sierra Grande (extinct) Volcano in NM, Who Knew??

What's the white crap on top of that mountain? (Houston boy in Colorado City)

Estes Park Elk, these guys own the place and they know it.

The hunting sucked because the weather was too warm (fantastic from my standpoint) so we did some exploring.
Johnny Park Road

Longs Peak(Correction: Mount Meeker) from Johnny Park Rd.

Pole Hill Road - Not very difficult but look at the view we stumbled across.

The state is cutting a new road thru Devils Gulch, an hour wait to get thru but the drives up Dunraven Road and Storm Mountain were very cool, especially Storm Mountain.

I know of all those places. Great pics. Glad you had a good time. And yes, the elk own that city. FYI, the pic of Longs Peak, that's actually Mount Meeker right in front of Longs Peak. Either way, beautiful photos. I love it out here.

made a lot of that trip two weeks ago - to Trinidad. Nice to see there's snow now and cold enough weather to bring the elk down.
