Which Warn winch to go with?

Im the guy he's talking about. I was the first one to have a Zeon on a Rampage bumper. I spend damn near an entire day fitting it, but it was worth it. I love it. Used it only once, performed flawlessly. Rampage is aware of the issue and said they will rework the bumper in the near future. Many other manufacturers have issues with Zeon fitment, but some are far easier to fit than others. The rampage is probably the most difficult.

Here is the problem. The winch contacts the bumper before the bolts are fully tightened.

I have a M8000 and love it, so a M12000 would be a great choice. Just don't do the VR series. While I'm sure they don't suck, they were made to compete with the cheaper built in China winches that are all over.

I got the Zeon. Mostly because of the way it looks. I still have not been able to use it. But I'm sure it will do it's job wonderfully.

Yup that's who I was talking about, that's what's worrying me about the Zeon, but it looks great on your Jeep. What did you do to fit it on if you don't mind me asking? I'm almost set on this winch. Looks like its performance is as flawless as any Warn, and looks great at the same time.

I had to notch a little bit out of the bumper. You can save yourself the headache by not trying to install the winchplate flush with the bumper (when you go to install you will see what I mean) and that extra 1/4" or so will give you the clearance you need. You can also stack a few grade8 washers to lift the winch up a little bit, buy 4 slightly longer bolts and thats that. I was just pissed that day and hacked the bumper. In retrospect I should have just stacked a few washers and have been done with it.
