Why do you still own your 2007 JK?

I don't have a 2007, I've got a 2013. But in the past, of the 20 or so cars I've had, I only miss one. It was my 1968 Bronco. I don't miss any of the hotrods, pickups, or cars. Hell, I wouldn't even miss my relatively new BMW that my wife and I own if it went away. I did miss one of my XJ's, but now that I have a JKUR I don't miss it anymore.

My JKUR gives me that same feeling the Bronco did. In under a year, and even with it being stock, it became one of those "forever" vehicles. As in, I am going to keep it forever. I can't put my finger on any one thing about it other than it is the perfect vehicle for me.

I do miss having a v8, but then again, it is not out of the question to do a LS swap down the road. (maybe after I have a few more miles under the warranty tho).

We just sold the wife's 07 with 120k this past July. She bought a 10a. We got 15900 for it.

Had mine since May '07. It's got 68k miles on the odometer, which is probably only off about 10%. It's my daily driver, on 37s. Doors/top off more than not here in S Texas. I'll give it up when it rusts to the ground. You can't get Rescue Green anymore.

When it does die, it will be made into a trail only vehicle and I'll just get another daily driver.

Best damned vehicle I ever owned...and I beat the poop out of him! I pull the Pos. post when I wash and wax/change the oil. Never been affected by the TSBs. Sept. 06 build. I call him "BIG FELLA"...

Well, before my 2007 JKU I had a 2 seat bmw z3. I loved that thing to death, but I haaaaaated the cargo space as there wasn't any. Then I found out my wife was pregnant with our first and In 2011 I decided the 2 seater was no family car so it had to go.
I knew I wanted something with four doors for a change, and was originally looking into the exterra, but then I found out that in 2007 jeep released the JKU (always loved wranglers and until that day never knew they made them in a four door model). I found mine at an infinity dealer, got a killer price on my '07 Sahara with a 2.5" lift kit already installed (pro comp, not the greatest lift but saved me a little money), and will never sell it. I plan on swapping in a v8 when we are both ready.
First mod- JE Reel driveshafts after I looked underneath and found grease splattered all over
Favorite mod- that's a hard one, but I would have to go with my evo tire carrier.

I bought my 2007 JKu in 2009. just purchased a Gobi rack to make it the "family vehicle". Two kids, two dog, probably more.. new set of 35s going on soon, so at least another 3 years.. maybe when it dies or the diesel comes out. JeepLeaves1.jpg TwinCone1.jpg Copper 01.jpg

I have an '05 Unlimited. It's the longest I've ever owned a vehicle and it's nearly paid off. I can't imagine not having it around, but to be honest, if/when Jeep comes out with a diesel Wrangler that I can buy here in SoCal, I'll sell my LJ and buy one.

I chose this model because I just couldn't afford a new JK at the time.

First mod was a lift in an attempt to cure DW (all the bushings were shot and the Jeep only had 15k mile when I bought it)

The lift made it much more fun....to get stuck further where my friends couldn't reach. Haha

Stickers were from two forums and the suspension manufacturer. All have since been removed.

Body armor; LoD tire carrier, Rokmen front bumper and sliders.

Lift; Currie CAs, Currie steering and Currie track bar. Teraflex springs and Rancho shocks.

Tires are BFG KM2s in the 33" variety.

I bought my 07 on January 17 of 2010 i had seen it and fell in love with her we went a couple times to the dealer 45 min away! But I just really liked the jeep! The only thing I regret is not doing research before buying it about Rubicons and x models but I got lucky and got 4:10 gears but still got a d30 but when I got it was my dads jeep when he goes hunting he took it a whole season and then he got his truck so he took that one and the jeep was just sitting at the house as our going out car but then I started to drive so I started with that one so I pretty much took over and ever since its been my jeep

2 years ago almost 3 in February is when I first went off road with jk-f it was a easy run for newbies I met so many people and after that I started modding my stocker I started with rock sliders then I got bedliner and started doing a lot of cosmetic stuff then I bought diff covers and then I got rubi tires then got a cb, also have gotten tow straps d-rings deflator and a bunch of small stuff and my last mod was my of-fab bumper which I got used

I have been on a budget being 19 with no job but I try my best to save money to wheel and mod my jeep

My next mods are on board air system, and my buddies lift, and 35's on atx slabs

Next when paid off it will be evo bolt on coilovers, long arm kit, with pro rock and 37's and full cage hopefully

This is my first jeep my first anything car(even though my jeep isn't a car) but I don't think id ever trade her in for anything!

Forgot pictures the last 2 are when I first got her

2007 Jeep Sahara

I still own mine because of the "life-time warranty" on the drivetrain. At approx. 35,000 miles they put a new manual trans in because of first gear popping out during acceleration (made me experience the pucker-affect pulling out in traffic). At 70,000 miles they had to replace the intake manifold gasket due to oil seepage. I had to fight for each one of those issues since they are classified as part of the drivetrain. Now at 80,000 miles I'm noticing that the rear main seal is leaking. Only 1qt of oil every 3,000 miles though. They'll only do something about if it hits 2 qts every 3,000 miles. Until they remove that warranty, or I get tired of fighting with Chrysler I'll keep my jeep.:icon_crazy:

I still have my first n only jeep.. the 07 Unlimited X..

the story with my jeep: In June 2007 me, my wife n daughter (5 months old), and my cousin n his girlfriend went to 4Wheeldrive Hardware to pick up the lift for his LJ. While my cousin was buying the lift his gf n my wife were picking out jeep shirts n other stuff.. My cousin asked Why I wasn't picking anything out? I said I don't own a jeep!!
So my wife said lets go get one!! We left 4wdh. We went to a dealership that I had seen one in an auto merchant mag. At first I didn't see it there. Went in to talk to a sales person, n right there it was.. I asked if we could take it for a test drive.. Sure, they moved a couple cars n open the double doors.. Put the car seat in the back n took it for a drive.. Came back, of course we loved it. Ask to see if we could finance it. While they were working on the paper work, we took it for another drive.. Came back signed the papers traded in our 2dr cavalier n drove home..

Got home took the doors off n drove back out to 4wdh. I bought a Jeep hat n 2 sets of grab handles.

Current set up. Don't have any stock pics on my current working computer

35's, 3.25" front lift, 2.5" rear lift, flat fenders, xrc front bumper n winch, xhd rear bumper, 5.13 gears, rubi rails

when purchased it had 4,960mi. it now has 66,894mi.

Why I still have it?? because it's a Jeep!!
