Ok so my jeep didnt go up in a fire, but I was bored at work and saw this video to waste sometime. Now dont get me wrong it would down right suck if my jeep or anyones burned to the ground. I just want some people to read some of the comments they where sad but some where people trying to say what happend and have no clue about a jeep. Also has this happened to anyone you know??

That's sick! I wonder how fast the mounting hardware would rust...?

Sent from my phone while I should probably be getting work done

Hard to say for sure being that I wasn't there but, the one time that I almost did see an engine fire like this was caused by ATF pumping out of a very hot transmission and onto the cat.

May be if they had one of these they could have put it out what a cool idea.

One of these would be cheaper and more effective than throwing water on an engine fire...

For 20 bucks i got a two pack and after seeing these videos i think it was a good price. lol

Yup. Throwing water on a grease/oil fire isn't the best idea. As for the video, can't say I disagree with the sentiment. The Wrangler is a great vehicle, but Chrysler is a sh!t company. The reality is, the Wrangler is basically competitor-less. If Honda and Toyota built a wrangler clone (solid dana axles, a removable roof, doors, etc) Jeep would see their sales plumment, and Im not talking about the mallcrawlers. Im on a lot of Jeep boards, and there are many disgruntled wrangler owners dealing with leaky roofs, bad clocksprings, etc and chrysler telling them to pound sand. The funny thing is, with Jeep selling 1 million JKs, Im amazed that no other manufacturers want a piece of that pie. I have a 12 now, and a 14 rubi on order, but (I used to get flamed for this on BMW forums) Im not a brand loyalist. I don't just buy a vehicle because it's made by company X or company Y. I buy it because it's the best I can get for my money for my intended use. The wrangler is the best you can get, but if one of the other manufacturers made an equal competitor, Im not sure I'd be in Jeep, and thats the truth.

:cheesy: Thats basically how the BMW guys were when I said my M3 was a piece of sh!t (at the dealer 19 times in 3 months.) Those guys will be stranded in the middle of the sahara on fire and still swear BMWs are the best.

Yeah, I never understood that. But I guess it's not uncommon. One need not look past the boy pissing on "chevy" "ford" or "dodge" window stickers to realize that brand loyalty often trumps common sense in many cases.
