People Suck

We had gone on vacation the last week of May to Arizona, it was great! People were overly friendly, the hiking trails were awesome, but when we got back to Texas, complete opposite. Being born and raised here, and with all the "Texas is so friendly", it's really not. Jeeples are friendly, common folk, not so much. Wife and I can't wait for our daughter to graduate, so we can move to a more scenic and drier climate.
That is one of the reasons why I have a mid-term plan to move to the wilds of Arizona. When we moved to Dallas many years ago, people were friendly. But that changed and friendly people are now the minority. The population explosion in Dallas definitely did not help.

There are surely plenty of unfriendly people in Arizona, but where we are going we have met many friendly people.

It is also a great place to go jeeping. 😀

I don’t know, could be me but if I had a small baby in the car I think I would have just backed off and taken my time to get home. I’m not sure how far from home you were but you said on your street. The whole thing could have been avoided. And you and your wife got all worked up and put your child into a situation that was totally avoidable.

Agreed. Situation is everything, and life has to take on a different speed and attitude when there are people in your vehicle who rely on you for protection.

This guy was just a completely just trying to pick a fight, I was not driving on his ass. There was a split second I was on his ass since he slammed on his breaks and that’s when I passed him. I was just driving normal.

Thought this would be a great thread since I seem to post about people sucking in the pet peeves thread. It is a pet peeve, but I figured a thread about people sucking might be necessary.

Today has been a great day, until I went out in public….

Typically I can easily grocery shop without any anxiety, except at Winco. Been there twice and both times I hated every second of it. First time there, my wife was 7 months pregnant and she about got nailed in the belly twice and hard! This time an idiot didn’t say excuse me and just reached over over my infant child in her car seat in my shopping cart for a large glass bottle. Then the self check out register kept freaking out at me and no one was around for assistance…

On the way home, on my street, some idiot was driving like a drunk ass. They were swerving, slow then fast, then full stop. So I passed him, then he gunned it past me. Then at the last corner he came to a complete stop and got out of his truck and freaked out on me for “driving like an idiot”. He asked, “did you just move here from California?”, he asked my wife if she is drunk and all this other shit. Then he followed me past my house.

I’m getting a shotgun tomorrow. Not that I don’t have guns, but another one would be nice since that ass knows where I live. I will also forever carry in my Jeep from now on.

I feel for you. I completely agree, most people suck. I'm lucky enough to have landed in a rather rural area and I avoid big cities like the plague now (used to enjoy going to Chicago and elsewhere to sight see and shop, but the fucking people...).

Well, the county has only 4% private land and I am moving to an old home. Is that ok? 😀

If you are talking about Maricopa county then I totally agree. You can see the glow from greater Phoenix from perhaps even 100 miles away!

Bob
I left maricopa county long time ago or as we call it now east LA I’m in yavapi county

I live in a rather rural area as well and that is still an issue. I avoid Bozeman as often as possible, it has too many people for my liking lol

I work on the outskirts of Bloomington, IN which looks to be about twice as big as Bozeman. I pay a sitter to pick up my kids, take them to the park for a bit to player, then drive them to where I work so I don't have to drive into town. No one knows how to drive nowadays, nor do they pay attention to what is going on while they are driving. It's been a great arrangement, and kept my blood pressure out of the red. I'm with you, only go into town if I absolutely need something. And usually I can talk my wife into grabbing whatever I need since she has to drive through town anyways.

My father in-law lived in Snowflake and my wife wants to see if we can buy his property and moved there after our daughter finishes high school.

Must of left Truck open last night when unloading my new lawn mower... Some piece of shit opened my door, ransacked my center console and stole my $1200 Work Ipad. Of course, there is nothing on the house Camera... I’m waiting for sherrif to file a report on the off chance they arrest the douche bag for something else... but I know I’ll never see it again. Fuck People.

That blows. Hope they catch that cocksucker. I recently saw or read something where criminals can supposedly scan vehicles now somehow to see if there is a phone or tablet inside (even if it's out of sight).

Only problem is, if what was stolen is valued under $1000, nothing will happen to the asswipe even if he's caught or at least, in California.

I’m pretty sure it was a dumbass homeless dude and not that sophisticated... I had 2 - $100 leathermans, 2 - $100 Esee knives, a Spyderco knife, a $120 IFAK kit, $100 Olight, $100 sunglasses... and all they took was spare change, the ipad, business cards and a case with pens in it... these fucks walk down the street and pull handles trying to find open doors. The one time I forget to lock it. But I bet they’ve tried before.

Just met with Sherrif to file a report for the hell of it.

Criminals have more rights then we do here.

So, as much as people suck, I will have to say there are a few good ones too.

Right after Lisa's funeral, Cindy and I decided to drive all the way back to Boulder City. Unfortunately, we left really late and didn't get back until about 2am. Super tired, we unloaded our Gladiator, walked into our house and went promptly to bed. Come 5:30 am, I woke up to a knock on the front door. By the time I got up and opened the front door to see what was going on, the person who knocked was gone. My best guess was that it was our next door neighbor being that I know he typically goes to work at that hour. I should also note that soon after, I saw a police car park across the street and a couple of officers took a look around but then left. Later on in the day, when our neighbor came home, the first thing he did was come by and knock on our door. This time, I got to talk to him and confirmed that it was him earlier as well. The reason why he knocked so early in the morning is because apparently, in my sleepy stupper, I had unloaded the Gladiator and went to bed without closing the door on it. In other words, I left the door wide open like a moron and for anyone to take what they wanted. Anyway, he closed the door for me and wanted to make sure that everything was okay. Of course, in addition to having nice and watchful neighbors, I'm happy to say that the tiny little town of Boulder City is a cop town and a lot of which who knows us. This is why they came by to check things out as well.
