Livin the Life - Tahoe 2013

LOL!! So on Saturday, I started working on our Jeep at about 9 in the morning with the hopes of getting my control arm mount fixed. While things did ultimately turn out okay, I have to say that it was really hard work, under a really hot sun and with one welder that wasn't working at all and another that was having issues. Come about 5pm, I am still under my Jeep trying to finish things up when a large group of Jeeps rolled into the parking lot. Being that I was still hard at work under my Jeep, beat to all hell and just wanting to get this thing done, I just kept on working. During the next 5 minutes or so, not a single one of them came over to say hello, to see what was going on or to even offer up any help and really, no problem. These guys just came off the trail and I'm sure the last thing they wanted to do is get their hands dirty. Well, apparently, a few of these guys got butthurt that I didn't crawl out from under my Jeep to welcome them and decided to post up the following on one of our Facebook pics...

That's funny! You were working on your jeep but you were expected to come out from under it to say hi? Instead of them walking over and asking if you needed help. Lol tools!!

Honestly, I can't make this stuff up. I just talked to Don about this and apparently, he got a chance to chat with a few of them. According to him, at least one said that he's seen our videos and when he heard this, he told the guy that I was under my Jeep and that he should say hello. Of course, this is all news to me.

I agree with OverlanderJK, and why would you admit to walking by someone that might need help, and then brag about how you stopped to help someone?

That's horse shit!!!!
They could have started a conversation just as easy. Instead they think they're special and get their feelings hurt.
People suck!!

Dude...Ed...they had twelve built jeeps AND helped someone out on the trail!

Why didn't you drop what you were doing and run over and start stroking their egos?

Well the good news is, they probably read this forum. I can't wait for them to post up their version of the story. That should make for a fun thread!

Unbelievable! "Tools" is right. I can't believe some people.

I bet they were starstruck and expected to be acknowledged. Very sad indeed. What imbecile would expect a guy who is sweating underneath his Jeep to come out and stroke your EGO. Worthless.

:grayno: Hindsight is 20/20. I guess I might have been a bit dehydrated at the time and a bit disoriented to think about what's really important. I now know better for next time.

Meh.
Fact is that Eddie is somewhat of a celebrity as well as the others who regularly appear in front of the camera for the WAL videos. Sometimes people lose perspective and get their pride hurt when someone who is well known does not make a special effort for them personally. Or they forget that everyone is human and sometimes are busy, having a bad day, or just weren't paying attention. They will get over it. So will everyone else.

Totally...I'm still pissed that Angelina Jolie didn't drop her six kids and come give me a BJ that time I saw her at the mall.

These must be the guys who dont wave at others on the road. When i was up there i waved at several jeeps and they ignored me.

For guys like this you have to honk, flash your lights and hang out the window with both hands waving...so they know you are paying them the proper respect. Then and only then will they decide wether your rig is built up enough to return a wave.
