I don't remember seeing or meeting half of the people on here.

I guess we had a couple jeeps...

I did not get to talk a fraction of the people I was hoping to.

Thank you to everyone on the trip for making it enjoyable for everyone.

The best thing that may have come out of this is after meeting the wade family and following them most of the day now my wife seems eager for me to take our jeep down to ORE. Soon to be :broke:

You can not find better shop owners than the Wades. Good people.

I told my wife I was going to avoid talking shop to Mel out on the run. He saw me under the front of my jeep and immediately asked if something was wrong.

They are the best, same here, talked about my bypass settings on the first stop and on the next one Mel walked by and told me to get him a wrench.

Thank you everyone for such a great time. We had friends out with us who'd never been out in a Jeep and they couldn't stop talking about how much fun they had and how nice everyone was!

It was very brave of the stock Jeeps to go adventuring with all the built (not bought) Jeeps.
Glad you came along, good to meet you all as well.

Thank you, Trail JK, for posting the info about the stock Jeep water issue! Mine is stock. I have 33s but that gives me only an inch above stock so it was still a little like boating for me. As soon as I read your post, I went outside to check. Luckily no water...and I realized I didn't even have the drain plug in the compartment! I took it out once to drain water from a leaky cooler back there.

That was how I learned it isn't smart to store automatically inflating life jackets in that compartment! And wouldn't you guess, it was the first time I was "responsible" and tied my cooler down! So when the life jackets inflated because of the pooling water, they lifted the floorboard and broke the contraptions that hold it shut. It was at the end of the Calcite Mine Trail in Anza Borrego. I just heard this hissing sound and was like, "what the hell is THAT?" and my heart sank thinking I was going to be stuck out there! Duh!!!

Thanks to Eddie and Cindy, and everyone in general for this trip. I've never met so many nice, helpful, cool people in one place before. It WAS a little intimidating pulling up to all the MONSTER Jeeps! But you gotta start somewhere, right? And everyone was so helpful with advice...even when I had my little spaz-out about the water! The trail was easy even for us little stock jeeps but that was nice because we didn't have to be all stressed out about it while trying to learn what this is all about. The whole time I kept thinking, "what did I do to deserve to have this much fun!"

I can't wait for the next one!!!

Well we just made it back to Oregon. I wanted to thank Eddie, Cindy and the crew for putting on an amazing trip. Kathie and I had a blast speeding (as much as one can without coil overs) through the dessert and meeting all these great people from the forum. I also wanted to thank whoever brought the sting and the car bombs, you really know how to start a run off properly. I also wanted to thank 2013rubirick, crippeddlepetey, and families for taking us in and showing us the wayoflife! Can't wait until the next time we meet! I'll post some pictures tomorrow.

Wondering if anyone else's engine looks like this? Not the best picture because I took it just now in the dark.

Looks the same here. Every trip out to the desert with more than a few jeeps looks like that. I spent part of Sunday picking dead grass out from under the jeep. Hope to give it a bath soon.

Cover the air intake and take a water hose to the engine. Will look good as new...well almost😉.

Ours looked exactly like that - 3 hours later and everything was back to clean, inside and out.
I was surprised to find some very fine dust inside the intake boot of the throttle body!
Not good!

I'll need to check my throttle body as you did. Guess that means I'll need to figure out where that is first. Lol. Always learning...👍

Welcome to the desert folks lol. Spare air cleaners are a must.
