No way! I assumed no one made these tires anymore. That great to know and I bet they look really good on Pappy. :yup:

There a company called Coker Tires and they specialize on making original classic reproduction tires. These 700x16 NDT (non directional tires) were made by Firestone back in the day and they were made using the original molds. They even have all the logos and markings. It's way cool. Had to get inner tubes for them and tire liners to make the work too. Now, I've either gotta find a shop that will work with these or I might have to get me a home tire machine.

Okay, bought me a manual tire machine from Harbor Freight, installed it and wrestled with some tires today! This first shot is of one of our new wheels mounted up. The rag is just there to help prevent damage to the wheel.

Getting ready to install the inner tube - god I hate these things.

After setting up the bead, it's time to air up.

Ta-da! Installed and ready to be bolted up to pappy!

Great job on getting the tires mounted up at home :thumb:

Thanks, it was a hell of a job if only because of the stupid inner tubes. You really have to man handle the tires on and that's hard to do when you're trying hard not to damage the inner tubes or the valve stems

Curious, why did you choose to go with white wheels vs the black ones? Is that period correct, or you just liked it better?

The wheels came black and we purposefully had them powder coated white as that's how they would have come back in the day. So yeah, they are period correct now.
