Let's See Your JK Weapon Mounts

Where do you guys live where you can roll around strapped like that? I don't think that would fly too well here in California!

In Mississippi, I can carry concealed everywhere, but a jail, a courtroom (while court is in session), a place of nuisance (brothel), and Federal buildings.

Working on a custom DIY rifle mount. Started today. Hoping to finish in the next week or two. I'll be sure to throw up some pics here and in my build thread.

There are TWO current concealed carry permits in San Francisco County. Our police are good, but nobody's THAT good. And you also can't buy or use hollow points in the SF city limits. Who cares about over-penetration in apartment buildings, no cop-killer bullets....

I remember there used to be a chancellor (family law stuff) in Stone County (Wiggins) Mississippi who kept a .357 on top of his bench in a Manila folder stapled up the sides--he said you never knew what somebody might try when you're making a ruling taking their child away or something.

I need a gun to protect myself, my loved ones and oblivious sheltered sheeple who mistakenly think the world is a nice place where everyone gets along and everything will be alright....just give everyone a hug.

So well said!!!! Sick of hearing that stupid ass question of "why do you need a gun?". How ignorant are you? Do you watch the news? Do you think everyone just gets along all the time? Have you ever heard of stealing? Home burglary? Grand theft auto? It's not just a video game! There are people who are out there who would have no problem hurting you and taking your stuff that you have worked hard for.

GOD DAMN HIPPY MENTALITY! The 70's ended a long time ago! Look outside or watch the news!

The guy who derailed this is an Army vet whose interests include firearms and hunting according to his profile. I think some of us maybe took the bait.

Scooby, I have seen some roll cage mounts but (a) thought it'd take away some head space which I need at 6'3" and (b) never like the idea of a rifle pointed to the side at head height; would much prefer it be pointed straight up.

Apparently, the smiling faces at the end of my statement, did not gather the pretty obvious intent of sarcasm my post was meant. A brief check of my profile, would be pretty obvious. :D

I just saw a bunch of commas. Thought you had a stroke while stressing out about gun control.

What I need is not a mounting system, but a way to lock up long guns. As several months ago, had my vehicle broken into and a long gun stolen (at a park, during the day time).

So looking at getting a Tuffy Storage life for the rear cargo area? Any other good options? Problem with the tufty cargo lid is that you have to keep the rear seats in place.

Lol. I saw the sarcasm initially. A lot of people obviously didn't, lol.

At the same time, there are a ton of anti-gun asshats on the internet with no critical thinking whatsoever, I think many people get tired of listening to all that political rhetoric that isn't based on facts.

Do you leave them in at all times?

Seems like a good hard sided case with a blanket over it in the back with the tinted windows and doors locked would suffice, at least for occasional trips with the guns. If you keep it in there at all times, I'd look into some law enforcement solutions to see what they do.

In Colorado. I have my CCW license and carry everywhere I can. At the range at least once a week and always try to find a place for target practice, when camping or offroading.

Yep. Colorado is pretty pro-America for the most part. Just last week, a small group of people with guns were confronted by police in Longmont. They had faces covered and carrying signs that said 'The Revolution Starts with you.' I guess the police asked for Identification, and they all refused. The police found them doing nothing illegal and allowed them to carry on.

In California, just step out of a Hybrid with an Al Gore tshirt and a gun. Maybe you wouldn't be bothered :idontknow: .

You can make your own. :)
ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1459785766.106089.jpg Check out Sharkey's build thread for a few more in depth pics. I made one and I'm in the process of making a writeup for the deck. I'm at work currently and I'm hoping to get this writeup completed when I return home in a week or two. I can fit a broken down AR or an SBR in the center section either in a pelican case or in a soft case. For a carry pistol I have a tuffy security drawer for the driver side seat (secure storage if I'm going somewhere I can't carry).
It doesn't interfere with the seats folding and it also allows the use of "rear seat recline" blocks. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1459785968.657897.jpg

Usually not. That day vehicle was broken into, as luck would have it, was going to the range, after the park. (And the weapon was in a case on the floor, no stickers on vehicle advertising I am a "gun nut", etc. At park for only 30 minutes.

So, my rifles was as you described it above essentially.

Looking at Tuffy, they do make some pretty stout containers, similar in use to that many in LE has. But, of course $$$$$.

Installed my Bartact covers. Time to play around with them. I zip tied my LAG holster to the seat. Very secure and very accessible with no interference to my driving position or the e-brake.
