Texas Barnwell Run & Campout(May 21st-22nd)

Is there anyone leaving Friday afternoon from Houston? I'm going to book a hotel for the night. anybody have any good recommendations?

Booked our room, the La Quinta in Longview is pet friendly. Per the front desk girl I talked to, "they aren't very strict" when it comes to enforcing the 1 pet of 50lbs or less rule.

:clap2:

A few of us are leaving on Friday, as we get closer I'm hoping to set up a meeting point and time for those who want to caravan.

I got a room in Longview, it's about 30 minutes from the park entrance.

We are Leaning towards leaving Friday evening, but we plan on camping at this point. Looks like we may be camping solo
I was going to camp too, I just wanted check out some hotels in the area. I might be riding solo that weekend. co-pilot couldn't get the weekend off.

I'm planning on camping/staying in bunkhouse depending on weather.

I figure some grub and beverages would be in order for Friday too.

Did we ever figure out if the park charges per day for the folks staying elsewhere, or if we would be good for the whole weekend?

I've been trying to get ahold of the park manager, unfortunately nothing yet. They are only in office Friday-Sunday, and either I've been caught up or they've been busy when I've called. I'll get it figured out soon!

I couldn't pull the trigger fast enough when I saw that decal.

My inner "no decals on anything" is feuding with my "that is so badass"

I've never been one for stickers, emblems, or any decals on my vehicles. But there's just something about a Jeep that is starting to sway me a little bit away from that

I understand I'm the same way but my Texan pride overruled instantly.

Ok now my Jeep is really ready for this run.

yeah, you need to step up your game to the medium group with us for sure... :thumb: Not to leave anyone out... just your jeep is capable. You can handle the hardER trails by thinking slow, and taking your time. Even if its your first time out. I would rather you have a GREAT time, Learn, and feel "challenged" vs being bored on easyER trails all weekend... Just something to think about.

I was kinda thinking about that, this will be my second time going off roading. I probably will go with the medium group I just need to get a feel for how my Jeep handles now.
