2016 Wayalife End of Summer WINDROCK Run - Official Event Thread

Hey guys, I'm planning on attending but I've not been to Windrock before. I have a capable jeep but I'm not sure which group to choose. Is the extreme group more buggy and trail Rigs?

Look in the first post here and look at some of the trails they're running. You can look up videos on YouTube. If you're locked, running 37s with armor, and a capable driver, I'd say you'll be ok in extreme. There are also by-passes for some of the really hard stuff.

Sorry if this is a duplicate, but I'm still trying to navigate my way around the site.
Is the windrock extreme trails more for buggies and trail rigs?

Ok cool, I have all the good stuff. Are you able to do advanced the first day and move to extreme the last day...don't wanna bunch of trail rash but don't wanna be bored either.

If anything, I would suggest running Extreme on Friday and possibly dropping down on Saturday.

Ok, I have someone else attending let me find out which one he's gonna do. I would like to wheel at least one day with him. Thanks for all the info!

Can't wait for Thursday to get here!

DONE LIST:

[emoji818]️Oil & filter changed and fluids checked.
️[emoji818]️High impact wrench charged.
[emoji818]️1st Aid kit stocked.
[emoji818]️Tools re-organized and re-packed, guaranteeing I can't find anything!
[emoji818]️Firestik antenna, CB handpiece, charging cables, winch remote, tool box/bags, fluids, miscellaneous stuff (fuses, clamps, tapes/goop/glue/bonds, bailing wire, heat tape, zip ties, tire repair kit, plastic clips, plastic bearing thingy, etc.), step stool, miscellaneous lock keys (hood, doors, wheels -- Mexico border living!), breaker bar, LFH (I don't have a BFH), etc. loaded.
[emoji818]️Recovery bag checked (tree saver strap, snatch strap, snatch block, gloves, shackles) and loaded.
[emoji818]️Air down locks re-adjusted, mal-adjusted, accidentally pulled apart and put back together, and f---- it: I'll air down to whatever the lowest one ends up being.
[emoji818]️Winch re-spooled, super nice and neat for extra incentive not to use it, but a guarantee it's coming out!
[emoji818]️Purchased and paid for brand-new (hopefully!) Willys edition wheels off of Craigslist, to pick up on the way home (replacing really, really sad Willys wheels, before I am reported to the "Willys Edition Wheel Abuse Hotline" or I have my photo plastered at all the malls, banning me from mall crawling.
[emoji818]️Lost key to trailer hitch lock.
[emoji818]️Roof top off.
[emoji818]️Whiskey & cigars selected.
[emoji818]️Leaving packing to the absolute last minute, then being forced and rushed, and certain to forget something critical.
[emoji818]Found and fixed the rattle from my rock sliders.

TO DO LIST:

- Call locksmith for trailer hitch lock.
- Forget something.
- Pick up tamales for trail lunch
- Load Jeep on trailer
- Head out Tuesday, making the hot and boring trek out of south Texas, with a detour to drop off my Doberman for Boot Camp.

The only thing I heard there was fresh tamales....mmmmmmmmm

Ok, I'm in for the advanced group one day and if there's a spot left I'll switch up to the extreme group. I'll be solo and will probably skip the dinner on Sat. as well as the night time wheelin on Thursday. If the A3 advanced has a spot left that would be great. If the night time weather isn't too hot Im planning on staying at the campground
Looking forward to meeting some of You!
Thanks!
John

So is your buddy not coming now?

The weather also needs to be between 76 and 78 degrees Fahrenheit, he eats a strict vegan diet, and would like his coffee with 2 creams and no sugar.
