I have not been to Taste of Texas yet, but will definitely have to give it a shot!

You guys are making me hungry with all this talk of steak.

Go to HEB, pick up Uncle Chris' Gourmet Steak Seasoning (Fiesta brand seasonings). Rub into ribeyes 2 hours before grilling. Better than anything you will ever pay for in any of hose steak houses, anywhere, I promise.

I just told my wife that we're going to be grilling steaks one day this week, lol

Haven't tried that one yet but Chappell Hill Steak and Chop dust is badass.

Missed the steak debate, but olive oil and crushed black pepper, cook around 500 for the first 8 minutes or so, then lower the heat to 450 to finish off a beautiful, jucy, medium rare 1 lb new York strip... dinner last night. :yep:

That's about how I like them, I'm a sucker for black pepper.

I like to cook to feel on beef, whether it be a brisket or or a steak. It needs to cool off already so I can do a brisket cook and have everybody over

Hmmm. Well..I have never TOLD Angela anything other than "I love you" and "yes".

I only "tell" her things when she's not paying attention, or is actually out of earshot :thumb:

I cook for feel also. Just keep it hot to "carmalize" the oil and "crust" the steak, usually takes about 8 minutes or so... keeps the juice IN ;) then I finish off until medium rare. Yum!
