So I recently got into drinking Scotch and I am hooked! Figured I would start a scotch thread to piggy back on the wine and suds threads! With winter coming up and cold weather here, its the perfect time to sip on a nice glass of scotch!

the Glenfiddich 12 was my first and I absolutely loved it! It's a great scotch to start with to help you aquire a taste for scotch whisky. here are some other I have tried since then...

I haven't tried the Talisker Storm yet. Did you enjoy it?

BTW one of my favorite sub $100/bottle is Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 year. It's delicious.

Talisker storm is pretty good, I enjoyed the Lagavulin 16 more though. The Talisker just doesn't seem to have body the Lagavulin does. They are both very smokey which I love!

aaah, I almost picked up one of their bottles when I got the Talisker! I believe it was a two wood single malt though...

I started with Glenlivet 12 back in the day and it is still my favorite for the "everyday" occasional drink, considering price and taste. :rock:

yeah it was my second bottle and it was on sale for $37. Great taste and at that price its a steal!

Alright on to the next one! This time around I am trying the Oban 14. Its not nearly as peaty as the Lagavulin or the Talisker but more so than a Glennfiddich 12. It's a great blend of all the different flavors, it lands right in the middle of the "flavour map".

wow... now that is impressive! I think I drink mine too fast to ever collect so many though
