STUDcon - The building of a 2016 JKUR

UPDATE: So I just got word the new hood is still 2-3 weeks out [emoji24].
Then it has to go to paint still. Apparently I'm 1 of 61 people waiting on this hood as well.

AFTERMARKET EXHAUST!!!!

Today I began the exhaust project. Time for STUDcon to lose some weight!

There are two hangers holding this beast on.
One here on the drivers side.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1465255032.895568.jpg

And one here on the passenger side. A lil grease and some creative persuasion should get these off.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1465255047.131137.jpg

And then a 15mm will get this factory clamp off.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1465255063.014434.jpg

And after a bit off Jenny Craig we have this

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1465255080.933300.jpg

And now for tip choice...

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1465255103.598706.jpg

Well I didn't like the sound with the factory resonator and tip on. So I ended up swapping it out for a muffler. Tried a few different options.

Flow master 40 series

Flow master HP 2

Magma Flow race

Dynamax

And a Chinese knockoff.

The HP 2 from Flowmaster was by far the best choice. Sounds amazing. Clean tone. Not too load but not too quiet. Lowest profile. And gained the most flow. It was on sale for a deal package they were doing for $99. SCORE!

And now the final product, before and after.

Zombie Apocalypse, doomsday, over landing, camping, storage project write up.

So as some of you may have seen in a few pics I found a fancy little storage option for Gandalf. I'm a huge fan of organization and being prepared. I've had many inquiries about it and promised a write up. So here it is.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1465258647.666296.jpg

Picked it up at HomeDepot for less than $100.

It has multiple locking points for security. Here on each latch-

Here on the top box

And overall looking like this

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1465260894.798398.jpg

It fits perfectly in a JKU and can be easily tied down with the factory ties down spots. It doesn't rattle, shake or move a tad when strapped in. I've been crawling twice now with it in the back and it stays put!

Front bumper in stock form as we all know plus some bonus background scenery.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1470189115.689193.jpg

The front bumper is the brand new design from JCR. It is the match to the rear bumper. It's the Dagger Frame chop bumper.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1470189243.053784.jpg

Removing the factory bumper was quite simple.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1470189298.272076.jpg

It's for sale for Free.99 if anyone is interested lol... The factory bumper that is...

The first cut is the deepest on a brand new JKUR, as Sheryl Crowe says. She's right. After that, easy peasy.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1470189370.963331.jpg

Both sides cut, painted, swaybar motor flipped. Ready for install.

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1470189517.702638.jpg

Test fits...

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1470189598.223847.jpg

ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1470189646.526498.jpg

Perfect match, love that I can still use the factory fogs.
