now in Last Chance Cyn, and at the cabin in Bonanza Gulch

Here we are at the "joni-Jack /2 hearts mining claim" in Bonanza Gulch. I slept in the cabin on the old military type Bunk bed, and Dave and Bill slept outside.

Here you see my cooking setup inside the cabin....UMMMM... Bisquits and gravy, with fried tators, and sausage for breakfast!!

The trail beckons with the blooms from the wildflowers, and cactus all in their short life time splendor

As the trail winds through the canyons, the ancient sea bottom capped with lava flows becomes a colorful trip through history...

and old ford pickup truck cab catches my eye, so we go investigate. There we find a very faint trail to some mining diggings, and some rock foundations of the old miners, that lived in "dugout" type rock structures...

Canvas JK took us out for our first real off-road experience today. Went down to a place called Hard Rock near Ocala, FL. Took SWMBO and the boy. Had a blast and really learned a lot about just how capable a JKUS really is. Went up some steep inclines and down steeper inclines has some off camber action. Most of we did this as a family. Here are just a couple of shots. Video to come later. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1396743263.057972.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1396743278.504542.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1396743340.767941.jpg

A little bump on the LoD bumper. SWMBO thought we actually ripped something off. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1396743423.289125.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1396743445.596795.jpg

It's not funny when a "BANG" can sound really expensive,
and be a relief to be a bit of pinstripe or nothing at all.
That's when it is nice to have some real protection from the "bites" from the terrain.:yup:

On top of the mountain at the end of a hill climb course in Reading PA, there is a Japanese pagoda. Nothing overly special but really cool and a fun drive! ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1396785476.192705.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1396785486.376525.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1396785498.142582.jpg

The wife sure we tore something up. I told her that is why we have skid plates. Also told her if we were on 35's we would not have hit. Just dropping subtle hints.

Tell her that it would be even safer and trouble free wheeling on 37's and a PR44. ;):clap2:

I am not going to push my luck. Slow process. Almost like the garage. Besides I have to wait until after I retire or get promoted.

Big Bear lake. My wife wouldn't let me drive this trip though... I should have never let her drive the jeep. I can see it being a problem:)
