Fellow forum member "Familytime" and I went up to the Signal Peak/Fordyce area yesterday. We started up to signal peak, but the snow was getting to be too slippery. after almost sliding off the edge we turned around and headed up the beginning of the Fordyce trail. From there we played around by the Yuba river and did some water crossings. Good day!

My wife and I took off to Panamint Valley in search of a little adventure and some different scenery. We got to see some pretty cool sites and adventure around some of the mines to the south of Defense Mine. All in all it was a pretty awesome trip...until it wasn't..

...and this is how we ended up. Thirty miles east of Barstow with a fried transmission and a empty beer cooler.
Here's how that whole debacle is turning out.

Great photos Josh. Hopefully your Jeep will be up and running again soon.

Yeah hopefully Victorville Motors will give me a call back tomorrow. I don't know if you were aware, but my right catalytic convertor is on it's way out. This is going to be an expensive week. Thanks for all the advice. We missed Ballarat because of the tranny, but we'll get it on the next one. That place is AWESOME!!

Great photos! Can't wait to get out there.

Sean! I will definitely keep you in mind on the next one. The Panamint Springs Resort/Hotel was expensive for the one night and I'm sure we could've done better in Lone Pine, but you just couldn't beat the convenience of it.
