Best not to take this off road...it'll flop on the first obstacle...or a stiff breeze...

Good thing it was made for a MOVIE. Transformers if any of you remember. Some people are just so quick to hate on something they dont even know what theyre looking at.

Tommybuilt made this, he builds just about anything, including firearms. The sound system is insane. Obviously not practical for off-road....

It is without question, a true SEMA build and because of it, I can appreciate it too.

I look at it more as a piece of Art, its a movie prop.
I could only imagine what Tommy could build with purpose for actual off roading.

 While I can appreciate the effort, what specialty product is this monstrosity promoting? Other than giving 8 year olds mini-boners I don't get this thing....

What are the rotor for in the middle of the axle housings? Do they mitigate body roll or something since it's so tall? I feel like it would be scary to drive this thing faster than school zone speeds.

I was wondering that too. If you look at all the wheels, there are no brakes inside the wheels  , so I think the braking system is right there at the pumpkin. I'm guessing somehow the driveshafts run all the way through or there's some additional gearbox behind those rotors. I assume they work because there are fluid lines running to them.

They are pinion brakes. Rockwells have two pinions due to their top mounted design. The braking is done prior to the gear reduction found in the differential, which is why one rotor per axle is enough to stop those massive tires. That being said this setup is not DOT legal and is something you will generally only see on highly modified setups running these axles.

Ironically the person who built this used to be a builder for that show. Tommybuilt.

All of the original monster trucks ran those 2.5 ton and 5 ton axles when they first started to go crazy back in the 80's. Those brakes would stop them on a dime!

Keep waiting on it to turn into a Transformer.

it basically does, it was made for one of the transformers movies, not for the trails, the sides of it flip up in the air

Hmm, never knew braking systems like that existed. That's pretty cool
