We'll know for sure in about 2 weeks. If that is it, I like that the front portion looks like a JL. I was really hoping they wouldn't modify it too much from the JL platform.

If that is it, they should've called it a Scrambler. No respect for the history. 😎

Seems a bit odd to me to have a break between the cab and the bed but to have the rear fender "hang" over that break. Maybe I'm just being overly critical to save myself some money. ;)

If that is how the new gladiator would look. I actually dig it. Looks pretty clean. Although, I would hope that if this isnít the final rendering, that the rear doors would be a more full size style. More than that of what the reg cut off wrangler doors have.

Hoping itís a weird photoshop or bad angels. But those rear fenders are driving my ocd off the charts. To have them come forward of the bed looks retarded. But I also canít think of how they would look proportional if they didnít.

I found this image of the actual sheet metal. I would think for structure and using existing rear door that that would be the final design for those rear doors.

On the plus side, since the cab forms part of the rear wheel well, maybe the overall length and wheelbase won't be as long as I had originally expected.

Sharkey
11-14-2018, 09:49 PM
It's also interesting that the gas tank filler is in front of the rear wheel, not behind (like with the AEV Brute).

Agreed. The brutes have a long center span. That would shorten up the break over angle.

I am just not digging it. The old saying is buy more truck than you need. I can't imagine the tow capacity would be high enough to tow anything other than a lawn mower. There is no way I would hook up a horse trailer or a trailer with three or four atvs on it. It is a four door = four people = four atvs, four dirt bikes, or two sxs or one four seater sxs. I think owning this truck would mean that you would have to own two trucks. One to do real truck stuff and then this Jeep truck.

I think it'll make the news for sure but a hit in terms of being a real seller? I highly doubt it. Don't get me wrong, I love Jeep trucks, I own a J2000 and want this one but... one of the biggest reasons why Jeep could never make it in the truck market is because the other guys could always do it better and at a more reasonable cost. Jeep will not only be competing against the HUGELY POPULAR Tacoma and now Colorado, they'll be competing in a price range that makes it even hard for me not to look at a RAM or other full size truck instead. Right. Itís for a niche market. I think it will probably be a really nice vehicle, but will it sell? Itís going to be like the 2 door, a small percentage of sales versus the 4 door. There may be people that would like a Jeep, that donít buy because it has no bed, but I doubt a lot of them.

Right. Itís for a niche market. I think it will probably be a really nice vehicle, but will it sell? Itís going to be like the 2 door, a small percentage of sales versus the 4 door. There may be people that would like a Jeep, that donít buy because it has no bed, but I doubt a lot of them.

Itís only a niche market in the US. Most of the rest of the world doesnít get full size pickup and these smaller premium ďtrucksĒ are the fastest growing market segment in a number of regions

Top comes off, doors too. rubi model has ultra low range, and it's a jeep and yeah a jeep with some pretty amazing creature comforts too.

It wont out sell the other pickups but I'm thinking it's going to do better then many think. It will be amazing for off road comparatively speaking and that has a lot of appeal.

All white gladiator is a little much I agree. Soft top of black hard top would be better

Overland JK, grew up and still live in Scipio Center New York. My 1st Jeep was a 79 CJ7 renegade. I was very young and foolish and drove it into the ground, Lol! Cousin this truth I currently have a very early 1987 YJ and 1957 CJ5. No extreme modifications. I am still on the fence about this JT.

I thought about it. Iím going with the color matched hard top. Iíll have the soft top to change it up a bit
