Going to a Long Arm.. What can I expect?

To be fair, 2.5" should probably have adjustble UCA's at least. Even that little bit of change can screw with the pinion angle enough to get wobble issues, the JKs are more prone to it due to the UCA mounts being farther apart and therefore more parallel. While this geometry does actually make the rig ride better, it loses the mild "triangulation" of previous SFA Jeeps. Source of this was the lift company I worked for building their arms and installing.

This may be true in theory, but your average lady isn't going to be able to detect an extra .250 in penis length. Just sayin.

But really, it's not anywhere near as pronounced at 2.5, which is kind of the borderline. Caster angle and all that. Seems minor but it really does affect a lot.
I would have to agree with this. I've been running about 2.5-3" for a year and really had no complaints, but now with my adjustable arms installed and dialed in the difference in handling is night and day.

Installing a lift is not hard. There are lots of write ups here, and at www.projectjk.com

You can do it with combination wrenches, a set of jack stands, wheel chocks, a torque wrench, and a bottle jack. Impact wrenches, and a 1/2” socket set, make it easier, but it can be done with a small amount of tools. All of Wayoflife’s write ups here, and at ProjectJK list what you’ll need. It’s actually not work, to me. It’s pretty fun, wrenching on your own Jeep. If you have a few hours, you can do it yourself, and buy the tools out of what you would have paid a shop in labor.

Thanks for the info! I enjoy wrenching, what little I’ve done so far, and just need the jacks/stands and torque wrench to be a little more dangerous!

For anyone reading this thread that is considering suicide, please don't! There is help for you! Please! There are resources made available for you. Please stop, admire your Jeep, be happy with what you have. If you are considering Teraflex and can't determine truth from reality, take a deep breath, chug a beer, and call the suicide prevention hotline. The struggle is real.

I was on my way to a bridge before I read this post. Thanks for saving my life. How the hell did it get to this point. I don’t understand.

Seeing everybody is here chatting about TF and arms in general.

Being that we have right hand drive Jeeps in South Africa. We are limited by what we can fit.

I want to get adjustable control arms to get my geometry back to where I want it as AEV brackets keep on breaking.

At this stage we have the following available.

AEV
BDS
Old man Emu
EFS (China)
Ironmade (China)
Synergy - My choice
Metalcloack
ICON
Teraflex

What will your advice be?

PS: I've tried a few time to get stuff from EVO, but the refuse to ship to SA so that is out of the question.

I wouldn't do BDS/Zone. I've been down that road and replaced most of the parts in the kit now with something else. Actually my Zone control arm bushing failed on those with pretty low miles on them(see pics below). Will Currie send arms out to you? I would try to find something with a Johnny Joint if you can.

Of those options my 2 choices would be synergy and metalcloak. If the synergy had Johnny Joints on both ends I would definitely say go with those.

I just remembered that some of Synergy arms did come with JJs. I couldn't find them on their site, but Qtech has them:

ICON is pricey but excellent, their shocks are some of the best out there.

Not sure who you talked to about EVO MFG products, but we ship worldwide, daily.

We also have all of our RHD suspensions on the shelf, ready to ship out. :thumb:
