You're Doing It Wrong

It went wrong today......

Yikes that pic brings back some bad memories. The drill bit works but I hated doing it. Last time I used a red hot paper clip, really quick and fairly painless, and then ran it under hot water until it drained. Now I just don't carry a hammer in my tool bag lol

Hammer, door, slipped tool, or dropped something on it?

I was knocking something loose with the handle of a hammer and slipped or just totally missed it lol. I’ve been doing it this way for years but, obviously that’s not the right way to use a hammer [emoji849]

Ouch!!! May have to drill a hole to relieve the pressure on that one.

I might try this after couple of beers.

My brothers neighbor decided it was a good idea to use an impact wrench to take spark plugs out on his F-150. He ended up cracking most of them. One actually cracked into pieces and fell inside. He managed to get it out with a vacuum and a pice of flex pipe. He then again decided to use impact wrench to put the new plugs in. He cracked couple of those too. He’s lucky he didn’t crack them of the threads or cross thread. I literally wanted to slap him in the face when he told me this.

Spark plugs always make me nervous. No way in hell I'd use and impact gun. Not even an air ratchet. My Titan had 127k on the original plugs because I had heard horror stories about replacing them. The replacement interval was 105k

Not surprised they cracked. They would have broke and cracked even doing it by hand. Ford has had problems with them for a few years now and a lot of the tool guys make a special tool to remove the plugs without them breaking. Hope he gets the plug out without damaging the head/piston

Yep so true. Even with the tool I heard it’s still a pain. Some good tricks out there but don’t guarantee anything.

So if you've ever been to a drag race and experienced the Top Fuel class you know how intense the sights/sounds/physical forces that are involved. If you haven't then I promise you there is nothing else that I can think of that's as close to describe it. You have to experience it. Its so fucking loud and the concussive forces coming from the headers literally shake your eyeballs in your head. It's just awesome.

Having said that, why in the fucking hell would you ever get the idea that it would be ok to bring dogs to an event like this with NO HEARING PROTECTION for them whatsoever? How fucking dumb is that?!? These poor things were scared absolutely shitless after two runs - and I can't believe they even lasted one burnout - before freaking out and trying to get the hell away. I can't remember the last time I wanted to beat the living shit out of someone so badly. And I'm not having any of that bullshit about these being emotional support dogs. Clueless fucking morons is what these two assholes are. This is animal cruelty.

Dogs?!
How about the drunk sisterfuckers that have their kids without any hearing protection. Or walking in the pits and breathing in all the nitro fumes during test fires.
