I see why you haven't touched that winch yet hah. It's going to be amazing when you are done. I want to do this one day.

I can’t take all the credit on this one. I have guy that specializes in restoration and is doing all the paint, body work and reassembly. I’m handling the coordination, final parts installation, and unfortunately writing checks. But the paint and body work is way above my knowledge and ability but it will be done beyond correct and should last my lifetime.

That's exactly how I see myself doing a project like this. Either way, it's going to be such a great scrambler. If I was closer, I'd definitely rebuild that winch for you.

Thank you, I’m kinda looking forward to tearing it down. Just need to find an afternoon and evening to dive into it.

Finally got a chance to unbox the steering components from PSC.

So much stronger than the original gear and pump. I ordered it ported just in case.

Haven’t updated the build lately. Still waiting on axles to get the new rolling chassis set up before we can really start cranking. Pretty much everything is off the tub, just a few more points of contact to remove and it’s ready for media blasting. But it’s moving slowly.

As it’s come apart, we’ve found more penetrating rust at the “A” Pilar’s that will need to be cut out behind the rocker guards.

Axles should be here soon, then the build should pick up speed. Still hoping for end of summer to have it wrapped up.

Man, so much fun right there! Thanks for the update :thumb:

Thank you, for me this is such an exercise in patience.

It’s one thing on the homes I build that may take years for my clients, but now I’m on the other side of that coin watching a build more than doing. Still fun, it’s just going to take time!

WTH!?! How did I miss this thread?

This is sweet! Definitely will be following this! Isn't it a damn shame pretty much everything made in the 70's turned to a pile of junk in just a few years in the rust belt? :grayno:
