You going with 60’s?

If I do it, yes. 60s , 40s, big lift. Won't be any time soon, but I like planning ahead.

I recently purchased the Fusion hybrid 60/44 axles used from wtjstudios. After a few local trips, then hammering on them in Moab and Colorado (Where the hell were you at???), I have to say I am impressed with them. Unless 40+ tires and big power are in your future, these would hold up to most anything you throw at them. .

Glad to hear you've been happy with them. Busy busy summer for me. Don't even feel like I had a summer. Covid bullshit didn't help.

Still loving the Fusions. 60/60 combo for me. Got a little over 10k miles on them including a Rubicon/Fordyce trip, Tillamook twice, Dusy coming up soon and tons of local trails in between. No trailer so I drive it everywhere and it is my daily. Good to go!

Solid Plan... I like it.

I’ve been looking at Fusion axles as well, they seem like a great axle choice and well tested by some of you already.

I was even thinking of starting with their builder axles and slowly building them to reduce some cost up front and learn as I go. Kind of win/win. Plus I have a welder buddy...always nice. It’s hard for me to swallow $12k + up front, harder to explain it to the wife as well. I’m hoping to have my plan in place soon because I’d like 40s by this time next year.

I’ve been looking at axles lately and I think my first choice would be the fusion Ford 10 inch or the Currie F9s

Sound like they've been through some paces. What's your thoughts on the Kingpins on road vs ball joint set ups? Or is it something you haven't even noticed

Yeah, they are all built to order so you can get which ever brackets or none if you prefer. I’m sure the kingpins are overkill, but for a little bit more cost, they bring another level of confidence climbing those walls in Moab. Timing for the last set was about 6 weeks verses the UD60s where could be a week out. But if you’re planning ahead, it’s not as big of an issue.

That's not too bad of a turn around in reality, I feel like that decision is planned out anyway but I do understand why some want that quick turn like UD60s can provide

Why? What did they do?
I know this is an old JK thread, but I'm curious if you ever got these Fusion axles? Any thoughts? There is a chance (yes a slight chance) that I may have some fun with the gladiator in the future, and more fun requires bigger axles :D . Obviously Dynatrac is out due to ethical and moral reasons for my own standards. I know many have been pleased with Danas which is an option, but I'm curious about these Fusion ones also. I'm also hearing rumors that Currie may be coming out with something new and exciting. Either way, let me know if you ever went through with this and your thoughts. Looks like it's been about a year since this came up.
Was it the Chinese tire burnout that killed it for you?

Caught the Bug
Just reiterating most of what Bill said but I could not be happier with my Fusion axles. I have beat the living piss out of them since purchased and they haven’t even flinched. Between Pritchett and Billings Canyon I can say without question I have ALL the confidence in the world with the set up. I absolutely love my King pin setup and 14 bolt rear. Dan at Fusion has always been a phone call away and very responsive. My own abuse did sheer off a diff cover bolt in the housing but that has really been my only issue and Dan sent me out some spare bolts overnight with no questions. I strongly recommend you give him a call when making a decision. I spent hours upon hours on the phone with him planning my build, going over my needs and he was happy to help and talk through it all.

Solid as a rock. Adjustment is easy when they do start to wear the bushing just tighten back up. 17ft lbs is just right so you don’t have to break out the fish scale and pull anything apart.

I went 72” and glad I did but I’m also running 4.75 offset. For 3.5 offset wheels, I’d probably stick with the 68.5 or whatever the factory width is.
