VIDEO : What Should be the First Mod?

Bigger tires? Maybe a lift? How about a bumper and winch? The list goes on and on and they're all related to the one question that I get asked all the time, especially from people who are new to Jeeps. "What is the very first mod I should do?" Fortunately, Jeep JL Wranglers are without question, the most capable off road vehicle that money can buy and right out of the box. And, if you have something like a Rubicon, there really isn't anything more you'd need to get out on the trail and have a good time. But, what if you've got something basic like Pippi, our bone stock 2-Door JL Wrangler Sport? Well, my answer would be, the essentials! In this video, you'll get to see what that is and why it's the very first mod we made on her.

Well that beckons the question. What's you intended usage and final idea of what your jeep should look like?

I say capability enhancing mods go to the front (lift and tires) then rocker armor. Then recovery, and finally the cosmetic stuff can be last...haha.

Edit: I responded before watching the video. I also take recovery points for granted as I joined the Jeep world during the JKUR revolution...haha.

I don’t know where y’all got Ripley or what her pedigree is, but she’s definitely got the working dog instincts deeply ingrained. I grew up with blue heelers and border collies all working cattle, those traits are unmistakable.
Also, love the first upgrade. I got a pair of Rubicon rocker guards for mine off the internet and couldn’t be happier. Thanks for the video.

Great video and some solid recommendations for essential equipment.

I think an item high on the list should be a Jeep Dog! Obviously you have one in Ripley, she is way too cute and very stealthy! 🥷

I wish I would have gone that direction and got rubicon take off sliders. I now have dents in my rockers from the stock steps.

Love the peekaboo, she is so cute.

1st mod we put on my wife's 19 JL when we bought it new, was a set of Enhanced Rubicon Rock Rails. Only paid $300.00 for them at the time.

How about a driver who has read the owner’s manual. I’ve encountered way too many lately that don’t even know how to put their rig into 4wd.

Nice and simple, these videos help remind me the difference between needs and wants. Ripley and that tree were hilarious too.

I've always found them to work and pretty well. Glad you enjoyed seeing Ripley :)
