RETIREMENT ROAD TOUR #1

We visited Yellowstone today. A beautiful place with far too many tourists. 🤣

Despite all the ‘Turons’ it was still a great day.

one of my favorite places to visit but it's gotten way too busy.

Spent 3 weeks at Lake Yellowstone Hotel when my daughter was 5 (20 years ago), one of our sightseeing days, saw a couple of bears, one on its back on the ground, the other scratching its back against a tree.

I was focused on photographing the bear rolling on the ground all goofy while my daughter was telling me that bear scratching its back has a stick, like any good dad I answered without looking basically ignoring her.

Later as I was looking at the photos (early Nikon digital days), my daughter on my lap as we looked thru the photos and again, look daddy it's the bear with the stick.... well.... the stick was a bear boner; the 2 bears must have just had a session which is they were acting so goofy. 🤪

Sorry for the hijack, brought back memories ... great trip you're on!

The Cody Rodeo was awesome. They have it every night during the summer. Yes, every night. It was a good sized crowd and the attendees were very motivated to be there. Lots of younger people in attendance and participating. There were some participants that were barely as big as their hats!
During the junior Bull Riding a rider who was probably in grade school made a full 8 second ride, then jumped off the bull (steer) and raised his arms in the air in celebration. One of our fellow Nitto Road Trip participants/sponsors who is well known commented: “Kids in Wyoming are just raised differently.” A true statement!

Crappy pictures but I’m sure @Traciehue will save the day.
