Chronicles of MOBY - ACT 3

The wait will suck but 500/500 =
Assuming it can be done, the extra umph will be really nice to have for sure 😬
Wow that’s crazy, but sounds like nice upgrade is in store. No surprises but glad they are taking care of you…at first look, I thought no duh you had problems someone left a Mike Hard Can in there lol
LOL - that certainly wouldn't have helped :ROFLMAO:
Well…there is always a silver lining!!
Sure hope so especially for how much it's gonna cost 🤪

Wow, that’s a bummer! The new engine sounds amazing though! Forgive my ignorance, don’t know a whole lot about the complexities of engines, but is Moby’s engine completely toast now or something? Why does he feel you need a new one?
What moby had is the same issue that all the 6.2l engine have been going thru recently with gm where the temp fix is to put the 0-40 oil in it till it eventually spins the bearing anyway
What cozdude said ^^^ Unfortunately, this was a problem bound to happen.
hopefully the wait won't be long, a swap vs complete rebuild on an older engine sounds like a better option 👍
I think so too. At this point and time, better to just swap in something better especially being that a rebuild may not be any cheaper.

0-40 oil would have fixed that spun bearing issue 🤪

You’re gonna love the new 6.6! Use to love driving them in the 2500/3500 trucks at work. Them not have AFM lifters as well is a big plus and will be more reliable.
LOL - yeah, for sure it would have.

The new 6.6L really sounds like the way to go. Hoping it can be done. Gonna new new springs up front though LOL

Either the crankshaft would need to be resurfaced and a bearing found which is suitably snug, or the whole engine would need to be rebuilt. Taking out the crankshaft and putting it back in is very risky since the bearings may not settle the same way, and new problems could develop.
