Caught the Bug
I know this has been internetted to death but what are y'all running. I know tolerances have changed through the years but..... Not looking to solve the mystery, just looking for honest opinions.

I will need to do my first soon. Has 45,000 miles. No idea what previous owner used.

LMAO this thread.

No shade on the OP asking the question, but does anyone argue like this about what weight oil you run in your Honda Civic, or F150, or Explorer, or Harley, or Corvette? No, you run what the fucking oil cap says & move on with your life. It's so goddam comical....
It really is comical and the craziest thing about it, you can't make this shit up.

Let’s not be silly here. They absolutely do. Oil is one of thee most debated topics amongst all car enthusiasts. Greater even than the Snap-On vs Harbor freight fight of the early aughts.

Personally. I run whatever the hell oil I have on the shelf when I do an oil change. Regardless of what the cap says. (It’s usually pretty close tho or the actual recommended weight)
Further, I absolutely do not do what the manufacturer recommends. Those dumb dicks want you to go till the idiot light or oil meter tells you when to change your oil. Not the look, smell or mileage and or heavy use trends over that time.

To the OP. Check and change often. Don’t sweat the fine print.
