Ok while I know for the most part many people say and feel 40's are over kill. I do know there are some who love 40's! Anyway, I want to build my jeep right and only have to build it once! So this is more a question of what suspension kit would you guys recommend, what upgrades would you suggest for my axles and so fourth? I have an idea of the things I would have to do but since I am use to working on cars and not jeeps I want to make sure I go the safe route and not break my baby.
I am an aggressive driver too. I know that matters

I think to answer this question properly, we need to know how much money can you spend on your jeep? That will greatly determine things.

Some may feel different but I wouldn't feel comfortable with out at least d60s front and rear, upgraded steering system and at least 1350 drive shafts. Suspension depends on your budget.

^^^^^ this.... money plays the largest part in that. Several ways to run 40s.

Axle/driveline upgrades like Sean said are gonna be needed regardless...

There's a few people on here that are running 40's. So guys, what's the overall price point of 40's? New axles, shafts, drive lines, hydro assist, big brakes, and of course wheels and tires... What are we looking at? $10k? $15k? $20?!? Seems like a second loan of some sort is needed to get into the 40" neighborhood. Maybe I can sell some un-needed organs.... [emoji15]

$25k plus with wheels tires long arm etc.

^^Good call. Take out a loan to build your jeep. I'd recommend a payday loan or title loan. But that's only after you have raided all savings and 401k plans. :thumb:

Back of a napkin with DTD, long arms, high steer, hydro, Dynatracs, wheels and tires. You are looking well north of $30K.

Until you wheel hard and start breaking shit. Then it's even more. [emoji16]

As has been stated on Wayalife and told to me by others...if you have to ask, you can't afford it. Lol.

Good advice on the Loan MTG. [emoji106]

That's a whole lotta cheese. Mad respect to those that have made these kinds of investments to modify an already very expensive platform.

I did it for about 24k. Thats with Mopar dana 60's,evo double throwdown, driveshafts, and hydro assist. Thats with doing the majority of the laybor myself.

Lol ok. So far so good for myself. But like i have said before, opinions are like ass holes everybody has one!!

I'll make it easy for you. If you plan on having a reputable shop do the work and want it done right, figure $40k, Easily $40k plus. This gets you:
- 40s
- beadlocks
- long arm kit
- King coil overs
- drive shafts
- axles 60/60 or 60/80 full float
- armor
- tire carrier
- bumper
- winch
- compressor
- electrical kit
- lights, etc
