My JKUR Upgrades - what am I missing?

I did call EVO this am, I was told that Rubicat has the High Clearance LA upgrade kit, but that they also used a non-production run bracket that was welded on and is not "available" for purchase right now... So I guess I need to figure out if the local shop can make the High Clearance kit work in house or if they need some think else to make it work. there are so many moving parts to these upgrades... it is hard to keep up with it all... If it wasn't so damn far away I would just take my jeep to EVO, but thats a hike from Texas!

A lot of guys run them as DD's. There are so many fake beadlocks that I don't think most people can tell the difference anyway. Although it should be noted that it is illegal in some states.

Well I guess I Should have been more specific... Im looking to buy the ATX Slab beadlocks and run 37" NITTO trail grapplers on my DD just curious how many others are running that setup on something that sees high mileage ON Road

They work just fine on or off the road. I've never had any problems with mine. It's not that they are illegal, they just are not DOT approved for the highway. Like any other component on the Jeep they need to be checked occasionally by making sure the rings are all torqued down correctly.

Hutchinson beadlocks are DOT approved. :)

But they are a different internal beadlock design. And heavy at 55 lbs ea! I am in the process of converting to 37's and Hutchinson beadlocks as my DD, and I drive about 30k mi/yr.

Of course I could be just crazy. My wife certainly thinks I am.

How many of you guys who are running 37" tires on beadlocks use your jeep as a DD?

-Jason

I am. 37" Nitto TGs on 17" Spyderlock beadlocks. Runs great. If you live somewhere cold, keep a flathead screwdriver and small hammer handy though, as water will puddle in the wheel behind the ring and then freeze while you are parked and throw off the balance of your wheels! It's not a major balance issue, considering the 100+ pounds of my wheels, but it can give a slight vibration.

South Texas here so I would only have to worry about frozen water three weeks out of the year :)

EVO Axle Gussets
ProSteer Ball Joints
9500 Warn PowerPlant Winch
AEV ProCal
JE Reel Front and Rear 1350s
EVO Double D Long Arm Upgrade
EVO Front and Rear bolt on coil overs
EVO Bracket for coil overs
EVO vacuum pump relocation kit
EVO 1/4 pounder bumper
EVO stinger
EVO Airbump Front kit with bumps and coilover brackets
EVO Rear rockstops brackets, and bumps
EVO Rock skins
EVO rear tire carrier
EVO JK Drag Link Flip kit

other than the nutsert tool and the ball joint tools... is there anything I am missing? I dont want to get started and realize that I forgot "X" and have to stop everything to order something.

Anyone in San Antonio or nearby that has the nutsert tool and/or the ball joint kit tools? Or anyone that wants to help or can offer some knowledge on installing this would be awarded with mass quantities of beer!

Can't wait to see this rig come together!

I havent regeared yet, Im running a stock rubicon and I'm gonna see how the 4:10 gears feel after the upgrades... I also was planning to keep stock steering assist and see how that feels with the 37s

I'm pretty sure MTG has stock steering with his 37s, and I believe he also had the 4.10 gears until recently. Maybe he'll chime in here.

You didn't buy a separate drag link flip kit, did you? The double D setup comes with one.

Shoot, really?? Yeah I would have thought the guys at EVO or Northridge would have caught that.... But wait, I'm getting the cheaper "upgrade" kit that doesn't include the springs and stuff since I'm getting the CoilOvers... David@northridge or Chris@evo can one of y'all chime in on this?

Is there a good write up on installing the pro steer ball joints? Also, looking for a good write up on installing the front and rear JE Reel 1350 driveshafts.... I can't do the drive shaft install until I get the lift installed correct?
