Problem with the old CJs is they are so short.
Another transfer case may not fit due to length issues and where your rear axle ends up. Atlas is nice and strong

Also, where are you getting your fabrication parts?

Grab as many as you want, I need more space in my garage.

Unfortunately I chose one of the shortest CJs. I'm going to stretch the wheel base to 110", most if not all will be in the rear. I want the Atlas so it will raise my front yoke and give me more clearance for the belly skid plate and it's an Atlas.

My trusses and brackets are form artec. My heim joints, control arm DOM and diff covers are from ruffstuff. My role cage DOM is from a local shop. All my axle parts have been from summit and Northridge.

I cut up the old tub to take to the scrap yard and started to mock up the rear axle. IMG_20170109_190853603.jpgIMG_20170109_191025813.jpg

Prepped the frame to accept tubing. Started to figure out the new roll cage.IMG_20170112_165233886.jpgIMG_20170112_171859483.jpgIMG_20170112_173842339.jpgIMG_20170112_180109044.jpg

You worried about that old frame holding up to the big axles and tires?
I broke the frame on my old CJ5 in 1989. That metal has aged a bit since then

No, it's going to be a tube chassis with the frame as somewhere to start from. I'm using 2" X .120 wall DOM

I bent the rear lower hoop.IMG_20170113_144438760.jpgIMG_20170113_151705867.jpgIMG_20170113_154611935.jpg. I need to get a more accurate angle finder. I was about a degree off o. The second bend. Pretty good for my first piece though.
