My rear truss came in today. Getting it mocked up and checking fit.

Took a break from the front axle and welded the rear truss together. I had to preheat it to get better penetration. It's going to be tacked in place for now. When I figure out the pinion angle I'll finish weld it in place.

Finally tackled the casting on the axle tube. I was really nervous about cutting the tube the entire time. But it worked out pretty well. I cut circumference as deep as I was willing with the band saw. Then ground out the slug welds and broke the casting into pieces and hammered them off. A little of the last bracket is left to clean off.

Started the rebuild. I found out the valve body is missing a few parts. The valve body oil tube and the tcc solenoid. I won't need those until it's ready for assembly. 1475637263286.jpg

Started the reassembly 1476323027939.jpg put in a clutch pack and both sets of planetary gears 1476323084618.jpg started replacing seals on the input shaft were the oil pump contacts it. 1476323134985.jpg pressing the seals into the grooves in the shaft. 1476323199370.jpg .
