My girl and I have been camping up in the Bishop areas for about four years now. The temps get below freezing. Here is the list of gear we take and has proven to provide us with warmth.
1. Two 10 degree Coleman sleeping bags and pads for two.
2. a down blanket for in between the two sleeping bags.
3. sock are a must.
4. and most important, we sleep in our undies. our combined body heat keeps us very warm through the entire night. We keep sweats and sweaters under covers with us just in case we need to get up for ant reason.
5. My girls asks me to star a fire so when she gets up she can head straight to it and stay warm. My girl treats me like a king at home so I make sure she gets a fire and hot coffee.
