well that's a familiar sound!

as all others have already mentioned axle shaft - time to upgrade :thumb:

Being that this is a recent thread, I figured I'd add these pics here rather than start a new thread. My RR axle shaft is bent as well. I was nearly 100% sure it was, but decided to check the runout for sure today. Hopefully this may help someone else. Obviously spinning the tire and/or hearing the noise is the easiest way way to determine it, but in the rare occurrence a wheel or spacer isn't installed true and someone has similar symptoms and you want to know for sure if it's the axle or not, here's how to check an axle shaft by itself for runout with a dial indicator. This one is bent about .018. Most axle shafts should be around .002 or less (check with manufacturer to confirm). Each hash mark on the dial indicator is .001. You can see in the photos where the numbers are stamped on the hub of the axle shaft in both pictures to get an idea where the flanges high and low spot is as I'm spinning it.

Bent axle shaft?

So for like 2 months now I have have a rhythmic squeaking from the back left wheel of the Jeep. After going to the dealership 4 times they can't diagnose the issue, even after I got new rotors, pads etc... So yesterday I put my go pro on underneath and the wheel has a ever so slight wobble. (I can post the video if that helps). From what I have researched it looks and sounds like a bent axle shaft or flange, any recommendations on new ones?

This is coincidence but my front drivers side is doing the same exact thing. Not to hijack the thread but I can't figure it out. It never happened before the regear And now it's doing it. Could that as well be a bent shaft and what would have caused it? Also would it be bad to keep driving it that way? Sorry to hijack this thread.

Front axles don't have a flange. Yours could be improper assembly or dirt/dust in rotor, pad clips not installed right, etc. I would take it apart and inspect everything and clean pads and rotors.

Perfect thank you. Yea I know the front don't have flanges I should have been more specific my apologies. I was wondering if it was possible that the axle shaft was bent causing the u-joints to squeak? I thought about it later and figured that that is probably less likely. But Thank you I will pull it all apart tonight and inspect everything. I appreciate it.

Pay special attention to where the unit bearing bolts to the knuckle and that the pad hardware clips are tight in the caliper bracket.

I had a slight wobble on my rear and it turned out to be a bad axel seal. The dealership replaced the entire axel under warranty luckily

a bad seal wouldnt cause the wheel to wobble. you had a bent flange. the dealer misdiagnosed it, or didnt want to admit the flange was bent. Are you running factory wheel/tire size? :naw: I would be weary of that dealership in the future. that is definitely a possible red flag... stay on your toes.

So I've been chasing this vibration for a little while now. After all the resent freeway miles and it driving me bonkers. I jacked it up to take these videos. What do you think??

Drivers rear wheel: https://youtu.be/66j_JDDzwvo

Passenger rear wheel: https://youtu.be/wRf73AJioKA

I think I'm going to pull the axels out tomorrow to check further.

Driver's side does look bent but it can be hard to tell with the wheel on. Pull the wheel and break rotor to actually inspect the flange as it rotates. Mine was about the same. I didn't have any vibration bu tI did have a chirp chirp chirp when lightly braking. It drove me nuts until I replaced the axles.
