Thanks. Yes he was a really nice guy. Currently restoring a 41willy and has a CJ5. I tried to give him something but he refused, was just fun talking jeeps. He has owned several 8274s also and gave me some tips.

Wow! That winch is cleaning up nice. Your Jeep looks great too, really like the color scheme. Nice to hear another person who likes the EVO plush rides with Rancho’s. After researching around the forums, I’m leaning in that direction myself now.

Thanks. You won't regret the evo rancho combo, I love the way it handles. If you're not on a tight budget I would go with the 9000xl otherwise the 5000x is a good budget friendly choice.

So I turned to Warn for finding a decal set for my 8274 since they are faded/missing. They responded by sending me a free set in the mail, I was fully expecting to pay for something but they went above my expectations. I didn't even have to prove I had this winch, really nice guys over there. Anywho, turns out they don't make the vintage set anymore, after recieving this set and finding some decals won't fit, so I guess I'll have to turn to a private party to make up something close to the original decals.

Played around today with my drain/fill plugs. I'm no welder so I went looking for a drain plug that I could drill in and seal. I found these on amazon after a quick search. I decided to put my fill into my clutch plate, I stole this idea from gigglepin.
I had to make a couple modifications to make the seal fit and to where I could tighten the nut. I'll add a little silicone to add some extra protection when I finalize placement.
For the drain plug I decided to go on the lower side of the lower housing instead of the underside. I don't think I would be able to reach the underside after I get this guy mounted.
Going to play around with the zerk fittings on the drum end support this weekend then it's off to get powder-coated.

Decided to tag along with some local jeepers in Philadelphia MS this weekend. I've been itching to gain some experience since I have 0 and felt it was a good opportunity. It turned out to be a lot of mud riding but still fun nonetheless and I learned quite a bit from the guys leading the group. There was a guy there with a stock JK and pretty much outperformed guys lifted with 35s. Goes to show you it's all about the driver and not the jeep.

Well I got broken in this past weekend. Went with our local jeep club to Hot Springs AR and ran through several trails in the ORV park. First time playing in the rocks and I gotta say there is no comparison vs mud. I've found my new playground and can't wait for the next trip. I was able to earn all 3 badges here and Rubicon Ridge was definitely my favorite. I tried one of the harder ones called ultimate adventure and although I made it out that was unnerving to hit so many things underneath. Luckily I didn't damage anything too severe. Little bit of road rash and I split my front driveshaft dust cover. Here are some pics highlighting the trip.

Looked through this build and saw no mention of axle upgrades? Are you doing this on 30s? Asking because I’ve got 30s and am trying to plan out my next steps. Definitely going to look into the Evo plush coils.

Yep I'm still using a 30 up front. From my understanding you'll be fine with 35s if you don't wheel like a madman. I haven't welded in C gussets yet but it's on my list to do. I wouldn't do this with 37s though. You'll love the plush coils. If you have the money, pair it with rancho 9000x shocks

Man there is no comparison. I'm going to avoid mud as much as I can. I got nervous every time I hit a hole and the cleanup is ridiculous. I just hate I have to drive 6+ hours each time I want to play with the rocks.
