Building Aurora - My 2017 JKU Winter Edition Build

Thank you! The chief blue was a little TOO blue at first. I preferred the standard dark blue, but got a screaming deal on this one. The color has grown on me though. When the tops off she looks fantastic. At some point I'll add a black soft top which should help too. Cheers.

As a fellow chief blue owner the blue can be over the top. Once you start taking away the blue fenders and changing things up it’s not anywhere near as overwhelming. I actually like my blue top now. Still prefer stripped down but alas it’s winter. Good luck with the build. I can’t say enough good things about the Fusion if you are still in the axle market. Waiting to install mine now.

Ha, agreed about the blue being BLUE! It looks great with the top off and black roll cage covers. The KO2's have been peppering my back wheel wells with rocks, I'll probably repaint both back and front wheel wells black at some point. Honestly I've gotten used to the blue now, and wouldn't have wanted another color. Definitely stands out.

Fusion's still on my shortlist. It'll be next year before I order axles, not sure which way I want to go. Thanks for the recommendation! Cheers.

Took time to install my switchpro 9100. Pulling the dash apart to install the switches was a little tedious but I like this location. This system was SUPER easy to install other than getting it in your perfect spot.

Installed my arb high output compressor on the evo bracket also. Great setup, tucks in nice and tight. I'm planning to run a remote line. Didn't have time to finish wiring the arb and figure the remote location. But a good start.

Also hope to show some hardtop winch setup pics tomorrow. Just want to finish up the insulation, show the whole progression.

Edit: Well after further review I think I screwed something up installing the Switchpro. The switches aren't lighting up (I initially just assumed they wouldn't light up until an accessory is tied to them).

The hardest part was crimping the T-Tap onto the white/light brown wire coming from the green TIPM connector and then attaching the white wire (if I remember correctly). Has anyone had problems with this? I'm wondering if I maybe cut the white/light brown wire with the T-Tap. Not seeing fog lights either, anyone know if that wire feeds fog lights?

I'll probably pull my TIPM completely this weekend so it's easier to work with those wires, may try to splice/solder the connection instead. Just not sure if that's what I fucked up...

Had some free time to finish the Switchpro 9100/ARB Compressor/EVO Compressor Bracket this weekend. Had a bad t-tap for the backlight, corrected that with a better splice. Very easy system to install!

Awesome and clean install! I really need to get me one of those for my Gladiator.

Thank you! Really appreciate the info on this site, definitely guided me on this decision and I have 0 regrets. The Switch pro is fantastic and almost criminally easy to install. And the ARB compressor/EVO compressor mount are slick as hell.

Only recommendation for this install is to do a proper splice for the back light. The T-tap is a great concept but I had issues getting it seated right. Also buy some high temp split loom, keeps everything looking clean. And will protect the cables longer term.

Cheers!

Turned out really clean! I feel you pain on pulling wires and doing it in such a way the it looks OEM when it’s done. Takes twice as long, but worth it in the end.

Leo up near south bend? Lived in Pierceton for a year and a half. From Muncie area.

I'm near Spencer Indiana. It was in the 30s yesterday. Prob hit 50 this afternoon. I have been sweating stuffing insulation. High of 22 tomorrow. Ice just sucks, but loved the one good weekend snow we had last year. Wife, kids and i just cruised country roads looking for people to winch out!

My Wife is from Spencer IN, and my In-Laws still live in Spencer, IN. We go back from time to time. They live out a little bit across the white river, passed the park with the great big chicken.

Small world! I probably live within a few miles of them. I'm 5 minutes south east from Mccormick's Creek State Park. If you make it out this way let me know! I'll grab you a beer at the new brewery in Spencer. Cheers man!

Sounds great, i should be headed out there this summer time frame.

I installed my cb and mount last week. It turned out great. I'm still waiting on my grounding cable. And need to run the cable from antenna to cb. But I thjnk this turned out well!

Ran all the wires and connected cb to the switch pro. I think it turned out pretty well. Next time i have dash out I'll secure wires a little better so they exit more cleanly.

Still probably run a ground strap too but this is 90% of the work.
