Mine is a 2014 so the console is different, but I've never attempted to take the console out without taking the seats out. It's not 100% necessary, but taking the seats out is easy enough that I'd do that as well. Gives you room to twist the thing around enough to figure out how it comes off.
Not that it helps now but I cut an access so that I didn’t need to remove my console, would have been nice to have a factory access point. How do you fignal the plastic around the brake , if I take the dash face off will the give clearance or is there something I am missing all bolts lose I can lift it up gets stuck in brake , @#$@ any way no mater how you adjust , seats still in that should not make a difference brake how around the break ?
I took it out once and it was a pain in the keister had to replace that wonderful plastic bushing a second time so I cut an access panelNot that it helps now but I cut an access so that I didn’t need to remove my console, would have been nice to have a factory access point.
