How's Your Summer Wheeling Going?

Planning my regular Colorado trip Sept 21st to the 26th and will be in area 4 and 5 from the Charles Wells book (Breck, Fairplay, Keystone, Leadville). Planning on running Mosquito Pass for sure and then whatever else we can fit in. Also going to drive Red Cone for the first time in my Jeep. Maybe even Holy Cross if my balls are big enough :blush:

But so far the only wheeling trip we took was to Hidden Falls in TX. It was a cool trip and got to meet up with some other WAYALIFERS! It's been a great summer so far! :beer:

Did some wheeling out in Butler for the Jeep Festival. Had a blast on the trails they had out there on Coopers Lake, already booking it again for next year hopefully by then I'll have some bigger tires and a lift to do some more trails out there. My favorite one was the Morain Trail, the Invasion in uptown Butler was also pretty cool.

Drummond Island Jamboree

My wife and I spent Thurs - Sun at the Drummond Island Jamboree. Still recovering. Beast took us everywhere we wanted to go, but I failed to engage the locker on lower citadel and had to winch up the hard line. It's a great excuse to go back, as I know I can make that run. I'd like to go back with some WoLers, and take more runs at each obstacle someday.

Went to Moab at the end of April, spent a weekend in the Gold Lake/Snake Lake trails, next up is Slick Rock trail then Sierra Trek and High Sierra Poker Run. Pretty active year!

1500 jeeps in the downtown Friday night invasion (not including spectators and spectator' jeeps), it is a sold out event

Yes a lady knit a sweater that completely covered her husband's jeep.

Dok already covered the good times at Hidden Falls-

But the first event of summer technically goes to this last weekend's trip down to Corpus to meet up with some good friends in from Cali, some of which I hadn't seen in 5 years. The most interesting event was accidentally running a half-a-million dollar boat aground on a sandbar.

But everything was fine in the end and even managed to get the rig out combing the beaches for a while near North Padre.
