Putting a hemi or LS in a jeep is no simple task and takes some serious coin and makes an elite jeep there's nothing cookie cutter about it, I would consider that an insult if I had gone through all of that on my jeep.. That being said I fully understand what you are doing on a budget and why, good luck with your project! :thumb:

I know it takes alot of dollar but it is probably relatively easy for modern electronics to be made to work with modern engine and transmissions with programmers. Can bus has the benifit of using less wires but ties multiple items together. I do not want that and I just tore that shit right out. Some may see that as barbaric but I dont want to spend money on modern electronics that I cannot service myself without scanners.

Hello my Dear Fellows. Sorry I have not updated my progress of late. Things are going slow since the JK has been back on the road and usable. Resting on my laurels somewhat. Anyway I do have a MPG update. I am getting 24 US mpg on my 83 mile commute to work. Not Bad Huh?

OK I have settled on using the xj gauge cluster. The jk one does not have enough room in it for the essential gauges. So I am making a new cowl to cover the hole in the dash. Its obviously not as clean as the factory layout but im not too bothered. Its a work in progress.

Yep, gauges are much better than lights.... or no indication. Can't wait to see how the dash comes out. Have to keep reminding myself right hand drive, right hand drive:)

Sweet!! I'm glad to see you're getting good mpg!! It would've sucked to do all that work for a minimal gain. Keep us posted! I can't wait to see the finished product. The dash also look much better than the last video!

Well the mpg was not really expected to be that good. I did the swap for reliability and ease of maintenance. Im surprised to be getting the same mileage as the crd but it was f*****g gutless anyway. The jeep handles much better too. The rocker cover is about 6" below the hood and the CRD was 1" below the hood so the jeep stays much flatter in the corners. No sway bars.

Well its very kind of you to say so. There is no screen over the gauges yet. Im gonna try to get some matte finish perspex (plexiglass) like you get on lcd tv's.

Hey guys. Just realised that I have not put a photo up of the completed engine bay so here is one of the whole thing and one showing the clearance from the rad.

Very cool! So, with the engine sitting so low, I know it will handle better and just be better in general, but does it hang too low underneath? Like do you think you'll be dragging the oil pan everywhere?

The lowest hanging part is the transmission crossmember at 1/2". The engine oil pan and transmission are tucked up about 2 1/2" and the T-case is tucked up 1".

I kinda like the older gauges better than what we have, I guess more of a classic look and feel. Looking good tho.

Thank you for the compliments. Its nice having 2 extra gauges more than the jk dash. Obviously its not really a show quality finish but its functional. Its still not finished so things may change.
