JoJo- 1957 Panel Wagon

Thought you were going camping?
We did, met Cindy and Eddie for breakfast. I really wanted to camp with them but it was so fucking hot that way. We stayed at dynamo

Just an update, I drive the wagon weekly to work, it’s been pretty damn fun to say the least. However the brake master has been giving me issues. It’ll lock the rear brakes up gradually. I finally replaced it with a wilwood 1” bore today. It’s the same one I’m running in my FC170.
What a major different in peddle feel and braking. I should have done this earlier!! I should say I did replace the master cylinder once before. Take of from me, skip the master cylinder that comes in the conversion kit and just put a wilwood in.

Does anyone have a colored wiring diagram for the lights and turn signals for these wagons? I tossed mine and I’m trouble shooting a brake light issue.

I'm surprised that you don't have a factory service manual for that thing!

If you think the wiring would be similar to a 3B or Jeepster, I have diagrams for them.

I do, it doesn’t have the color codes, just lines. It helps but not the best.
You should only have 3 wires at most to work with. I would think you should be able to trace them pretty easily. What seems to be the problem? Also, do you have the 2 wire switch on the MC?

Yes, something is back feeding through the new turn signal switch. That’s the plan next to start tracing it, but it’s fucking dark now at 5pm.

It was a bad brake switch, i went through 2 painless wiring low pressure switches, and two from Oreilys, I finally said fuck it and bought one for a Harley. They are a low pressure switch. Worked like a charm. 4 bad switches, wtf

Damn, that sucks but glad you were able to get it fixed 👍

Well it’s fucking cold already here’s 50 or so 😂. So I decide to see if the factory heater works. Amazingly enough it does!! No leaks on the heater core and the factor switch works sorta. It actually blows warm air . I need to order the air duct that attaches the heater to the grill.

I guess I need to put window in the front doors next,

So much awesomeness right there (y)

Worked on getting the original horn working again, I bought a repair kit, and then realized after tearing it down, the original would more than likely work. So i did a little soldering and reused the old horn button.

it took me a minute to realize it works of closing the ground circuit. But it’s back in operation again.

I can’t wait to hit the horn and flip off the next fucker thar cuts me off.

I also took used the heat today, it gets the interior pretty hot, and fairly quick,

It turns out, the fresh air hose on these jeeps really are for fresh air. That heater pulls in some engine smells… wow.

I’ve been reluctant to add this hose just because of the cost. But I bought one anyways…

fyi, that’s what the hole is for on the grill.

next up, E brake cables and front door glass.

first time one of my old Jeep left me stranded. I went to Home Depot for some wood and it died about a mile from home . Pull it with the TJ.

I’m pretty sure the fuel pump went out. Damn Chinese crap only lasted two summers.

Summit Racing, Carter made in the USA, Walbro, Bosch; pricey but worth it.

I used Carter back in the day for what today would be considered classics, never failed.

welp, did some work and use an old school flare tool I found at an estate sale. I have never flared a line so easily. The chucks are on dials to change sizes. New electric fuel pump is in. Bad news is, it still won’t start. I think have a couple issues going on😢. No spark
