Can you take pictures right were the hinge mounts to the tailgate next to the tail light? I didn't receive any instructions at all so I'm having to wing it as I go...

Hope this helps.

Those brackets go directly behind the jk tailgate hinges. Only do one hinge at a time with tailgate closed to keep door alignment in place.

You can see them behind the hinges in the photo I took. Also they are explained in step two of the instructions I photo for you above.

No problem man. Let me know if you get confused or stumped and I'll try to help you best I can. Good luck and post photos when you're done!

Well I got it on there! Total install time was around 3 hours but not bad at all. Especially after you posted the pics and instructions. I'm pleased with the it. Would definitely buy it again. I may ditch the third brake light tho. It obstructs too much of the rear view for my taste. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1443913187.371170.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1443913209.082212.jpg

Here it is with the 35 spare.

Is your tire carrier adjusted all the way out from the tailgate to run the 35 on the factory wheel? Or are you running a spacer on it as well? Mine is adjusted all the way out and the factory Mud Terrain is already up against the carrier tubes. I just wonder how tight of a fit it's gonna be after I get the 315/70's mounted on the factory wheel...

Good job. Looks great.

Did you have any trouble getting it level? I'm still just slightly not level on the left side but good enough i guess.

Yes I removed my third brake light too and placed it on the tire carrier. He designed a perfect spot to mount it low where it peeks through the spare wheel spokes. I'll post a pic for you to see where I mounted it tomorrow.

Glad you're happy with it. I am too. Great design.

I mounted it with the setting adjusted all the way out to mount the 35. It has plenty of room with the tire mount extended all the way out.

I found a picture that shows where I put my third brake light. If you look in the very top spoke of the spare tire you can see how I mounted my third brake light. It fits perfect there. The maximus 3 tire carrier has two holes designed to mount the brake light there. Check it out.

That's pretty slick. I'm definitely gonna have to check that out.

Can you take some pics of that light setup? I don't see any holes that would match up to mount the light that low. Here is my current setup: ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1443978536.718425.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1443978553.626152.jpg

I will post pics for you. Btw Did you receive the new tail light in your kit? You will need to use the light that came in the kit and the included bolts.

Yes I got the light in the kit. I got it mounted on the actual mount for the tire but I was only able to use one bolt because both holes didn't line up. ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1443983263.773739.jpg ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1443983312.982018.jpg

Glad you were able to get it mounted. Strange the holes would not align. But it's so light one bolt should hold it fine. I'll take a pic of my setup do you can see how mine attached. Seems mine included a bracket the light attached to which could explain why your holes don't align.

Yeah, I would like to see yours. I used every bolt and bracket that came with my kit so I don't know if they have since changed them up or if it just got left out. If anything, I'm a machinist and I'll make my own. lol
