Naming your Jeep

Nice jeep! Well it took me a while to figure out the name of mine, but it came down to this, The Black Pearl! Come up with it because of the black color, and I love spiced rum like a pirate lol!!! So it only made sense! View attachment 139855 View attachment 139856

I fear that writing it down will make it official, but here goes nothing.

This is Caballero.

Being Hispanic, I think this keeps me to my roots. Caballero translates to gentleman, as it's typical translation. The root word is actually horse, horse are powerful, and it feels like riding a stallion. I'd like to think that the jeep is nothing more a mechanical horse. So I think I have finally named the jeep. Now it's sticker time.

I'm thinking about naming mine Nightcrawler due to the fact I want to do blue accents on my black jeep and I'm a big marvel fan and the character Nightcrawler is black and blue

My buddies named mine "One-Up". First reason my name is Mario and second is because I brag about how much better my JK is than their trucks! 20150412_113801.jpg

If you add a bunch of light bars, then you definitely can crawl at night too.

This is The Flying Dutchman. The reason I gave her this name is because while I was deployed my trucks call sign was The Flying Dutchmen and that truck got me through all kinds of things and out in one piece so I figured it would be a great name for my girl. Meet Téméraire

Meet Téméraire,

temeraire.jpg

As our family is fond of Dragons Téméraire is named after a Dragon in the series of books written by NAOMI NOVIK. For the first time (since we have owned him) we took him off road briefly in Northern Ontario last weekend. The picture was taken not long after. We had a lot of fun... Most of the driving last weekend was on pavement and gravel as there are not many trails in our immediate area and one has to drive up to Northern Ontario for wheeling purposes.

I was able to give my Wife her first driving lesson  (it was not that bad as it was in a big field). She will be going to a real driving school for further training.

This year's mods will include a set of Duratracs and additional skid plates...

Ha. I gave my wife a driving lesson. She about freaked out. Needless to say, she is done with stick shifts.

This is Ratchet. I picked the name for a couple reasons...first being the Transformer. Ratchet is the Medic...my wife is a nurse and I'm a police officer, meaning I get stuck in medical situations in the field more often than I would like lol. Second, I've always been the hands on/mr. Fix it type, so it applies.

The JKUR hard rock is my wife's. Name is Megatron...basically because it's a badass AND we are occasionally at odds hahaha

Rescue Hornet.
Had to pull a Kawasaki mule out of a creek when it would not start. While getting ready to tow it out, one of my friends walked into a hornets nest and was stung 7 times. It was called Rescue Hornet since! ImageUploadedByWAYALIFE1430794397.653480.jpg

My Jeep is named the Goat. A forum member called my Jeep that after I made it over this really really hard spot on a black diamond trail at Windrock, TN this last January on a forum ride. Oh yea, I was also a completely stock Jeep at the time and the only one there with a stick, everyone else had a lift and auto trans. The story goes like this, it was the last trail of the day and the hardest trail. The first 100 feet of this trail wasn't too bad until you got to these really big boulders everywhere. After stacking some rocks and some really good spotting from Jason at RockYour4x4 in TN I finally made it over these 2 HUGE rocks. And when I made it over the rocks, one of the guys screams out "I swear that things like a damn mountain goat!" So it stuck lol
