No wonder your forum and yourself gets such a bad rep

I usually do not get involved in these discussions but this one became a little offensive to me from both sides. I read and like this forum very much. The majority of the information is useful and helpful.

I am offended by the person who started this thread and when he was called out he threw in the military line. I hate this, it gives the rest of us a bad name. I hate when people use their military service to try and get something for free.

I am also offend by some of the posts on here and their attitude toward the military and the Air Force. I have been Active Duty Air Force for 23 years and served almost all of that in CSAR (Combat Search and Rescue). I have been deployed all over the Middle East, and even took shrapnel in the head from a RPG that hit about 20 feet from me at Bagram AB, Afghanistan. I was assigned to the 56th Rescue HH-60 UNIT and I am a Weapons specialist. Here are a few videos of what we do:

I do not mean to start a war, just voicing my input.

Skid_kid was a marine and I guarantee meant nothing bad by his comment. Just a joke.

And for my post, it was a jab at him. Lighten up a little.

It's just some friendly joking among other fellow vets. Don't take it to heart. :thumb:

So you have never talked trash about another service in your 23 years?

The point that is being missed is the original poster gave his input on a set of headlights and proceeded to offer up his services as a dealer. It was not until he got called out and became but hurt that he gave a hap hazard apology and then decided to throw out that his active duty Air Force, to me was his way to take some of the heat off. Me personally I find the fact he is trying to use his military service as a way of getting out of hot water.

Now lets talk about a little inter service rivalry that has been around as long as I can remember. I am retired from the Navy after 26 years and I have heard about every possible snide comment about the Navy. It is ok because I can dish it out just the same. Skid-Kid is a retired Marine and has served abroad just as you and I have. All the ribbing is in good fun try not take it too serious.

Silly Sailor!

How much do you think it would cost for us to fly Yoshi in for blowfish? I would even settle for some Coco's..... Hahahaha

Please tell me that after 23 years of service you aren't sensitive to the branch ball busting that has been going on for decades?

It's camaraderie. You must know that.

So there was a Marine who walks into a room and sees a little boy.
The little boy was like, "Wow, are you really a United States Marine!"
The Marine says, "Hell yeah, son! Do you want to wear my hat?"
"Yeah!" and so the Marine took off his hat and put it on the little boy, and leaves.

Then a Ranger comes in, *BOOM* kicking down the door as he enters.
The little boy looks up at the Ranger and says, "Wow, are you really a United States Army Airborne Ranger?"
"Yeah! Why? do you want to suck my D***??"
Then the little boy says, "No, I'm not a Marine, I'm just wearing the hat."

All jokes aside, I am a former Army Medic and now working as a Civilian RN at a VA hospital & it is both a honor and a privalege to be able to take care of all service members young and old. The Military branch rivalry jokes never go away or get old here at the VA. :thumb:

No, I was not talking about the funny comments about each. That is cool, believe me it does not bother me. MY son is in the Marines and we give each other crap all the time. Mine was really meant toward the situation with the idiot that decided to use the line I am military to try to get sympathy that pisses me off. Because his post and argue meant had nothing to do with him being military, so why throw it in.

I did not know which post it was but after re-read it, I realized I took it differently. My appologies. Thanks for your understanding, now back to Jeepin

That is because they are Department of Transportation. The Coast Guard does have a height requirement. Must be at least 6 ft tall to join. That way they can walk in to shore when their boat sinks.:cheesy:

DHS, they were DOT until GWOT... Actually, I'm not sure what they fall under now that GWOT is technically no more.

Go Merchant Marine, Beat Coast Guard!
