Project BOHICA: AllAmericanInfidel's Mojave Sand build

My current wheels have 5.2" of backspacing...the 35" KM2's fit inside the stock fenders on the Anvil...on my Brute, I havethesame backspace, but changed my fenders to PS Crushers, which are narrower...and would not pass safety inspection

Picked up some goodies yesterday,

And, busted the Savvy half doors open to get ready for paint. I may have to take them to a body shop instead of a powdercoater. All of the powder coat places I have called have told me the powder coat will not be a match. The search continues lol.

Got the BedTred installed today. I only did the floorboards and left the cargo area carpeted, since I felt it was pretty useless in my last rig.

And got the Bestop security drawers installed, well, mostly lol. I relocated the wires and got them zip tied down, and got the drawer in. I have to wait till tomorrow to see if I can borrow an 18mm wrench from someone. Sucks not having my tools here yet.

On another note, I got a body shop recommended to me, so I am going to call them tomorrow for a quote to color match the half doors.

Looking good. Best top vs Tuffy security drawers?

Thanks! I'm honestly not sure about differences. Bestop advertises their drawers as pry proof, just as Tuffy does. They appear to be good quality and are much heavier gauge steel than I thought they would be. For me, the deciding factor was availability. Here on the Island, it's take what's available here or pay a shit ton in shipping to order.

I've been looking at both of these as well. I've read that the Tuffy has more space in the drawer and that the drawer slides all the way out vs. the Bestop drawer that opens half way. Other than that from what I understand they are pretty similar.

I can't wait to see those half doors on your rig...

Enjoy the islands. Off to a good start.

I noticed the unit you went to. That is a lofty mission. Good luck.

i contemplated the Mohave Sand color for our next rig, but my wife really loves the Granite so we are going that route...

Looking forward to following the build, and def seeing them doors!

Sweet man. Glad to hear you're getting another Jeep.

Thank you. I'm pretty excited to work for the DPAA. Already scheduled for quite a few world wide missions, so they will definitely be keeping my busy!

Awesome. I am glad to hear you will still be in a Jeep. I have to admit, as much as I love the Mojave Sand, I do miss the Granite too. It's such a gorgeous color!

Half door interior hardware painted up and ready for the half doors to be finished up at the paint shop. Should be ready to pick up by the end of the week!

And pulled the clips out of the factory carpet. I am going to drill holes in the Bedtread to put the clips in, that way I can secure my Mopar slush mats down.

And working on plans for a half security deck. I want to make one that sits beside the jump seat in the rear, with enough room to secure bags underneath and still be able to strap an Ice chest on top of.

I remember talking to you not long ago when you were saying you were moving over here! Good to see you made it. Have you joined Oahu Jeeps on Facebook?
