Sitting on the back patio enjoying an adult beverage and right on schedule the freeloaders are back. The two closest are last year’s babies and the doe in the background is their mother. This year’s babies haven’t discovered the biscuits yet and either nurse or eat grass. They were all born in the woods directly behind the fence.

Last winter we had snow on the ground for a couple weeks and the little guy with the pathetic antlers came running everyday when I pulled down the driveway- probably because I fed them corn.
